Climate change affects everyone—but not equally.

ImpressAid was honoured to be invited by the Sauri Growth Initiative for Women and Youth with Disabilities to take part in the Media Briefing and National Policy Dialogue on Climate Change Adaptation for Women with Disabilities.

The briefing and policy dialogue highlighted why media engagement and inclusive policy conversations are essential tools for ensuring that women and girls with disabilities are not left behind in climate change adaptation, planning, and disaster response.

At ImpressAid, we believe climate justice must include disability justice. Women and girls with disabilities must be heard, counted, and included at every stage—from planning to disaster response.

We commend the Sauri Growth Initiative for bringing stakeholders together and for centering the voices of women and youth with disabilities.

ImpressAid joined women and women with disabilities in a National Policy Dialogue focused on ensuring that their experiences, challenges, and needs are reflected in climate adaptation and disaster risk management policies.

Strengthening Partnerships for Inclusive Emergency Management 🚨♿

Impress Community Aid & Support Organisation (ImpressAid) joined the Sauri Growth Initiative for Women and Youth with Disabilities (SGI-WYD) on an advocacy and partnership visit to NEMA.

The engagement focused on promoting disability-inclusive emergency preparedness, response, relief distribution, recovery and rehabilitation.

We highlighted the importance of accessible emergency information, needs-based assessments, community participation and ensuring that the voices of persons with disabilities are included in emergency planning and response.

ImpressAid participated in the Two-Day Capacity-Building Workshop on Inclusive Climate Policy Advocacy, organised by the Sauri Growth Initiative for Women and Youth with Disabilities (SGIWYWD) under the project “Advancing Inclusive Climate Governance: Integrating the Voices and Needs of Women and Women with Disabilities in Climate Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management.”

Held on 17–18 August 2026, the workshop provided an important platform for learning, dialogue and strengthening advocacy for climate policies that are responsive to the realities and needs of women and women with disabilities.

Climate action must be inclusive, participatory and accessible to all. Women and persons with disabilities must not only be considered in climate and disaster risk policies—they must have a meaningful voice in shaping them.
