PLASMIDA AND VOLUNTEER ARTISANS NETWORK (VAN ) SIGN MOU, APPLAUDED GOVERNOR MUTFWANG FOR ALWAYS SUPPORTING MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (MSMEs)

The Plateau State Microfinance Development Agency (PLASMIDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Volunteers Artisans Network (VAN) to compliment the state Government effort through PLASMIDA in utilizing the potentials of Plateau State artisans to promote economic development in the state.
This was contained in a statement in Jos on Thursday 9th October,2025 at the PLASMIDA office. while signing the MOU on behalf of Volunteer Artisans Network (VAN) it's National Coordinator, Yerima Solomon commended the effort of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Mutfwang through the Director General ,Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep for his efforts in supporting Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Plateau State, with Grants through the Plateau State Job Center , where citizens are learning various skills including Digital Marketing.
He further appreciated the DG PLASMIDA for giving his members the opportunity to learn essential knowledge on budgeting , saving, investing and effective money management to support their entrepreneurship and career goals .
He stated that the Volunteer Artisans Network (VAN) is made-up of clusters of Tailors,Gsm Repairers, Solar installation,Shoe/ Bag makers, Barbers etc.
He commended Governor Mutfwang for also working to create a favorable business environment, empower entrepreneurs and for appointing capable and competent individuals like the current DG who is doing extremely well in delivery the THE TIME IS NOW Mandate through the agency
Key areas of collaboration between PLASMIDA and VAN aims to:
-Offer free Artisans services to IDP's camp, communities as well as government institutions bodies.
- Provide training and capacity-building programs for Artisans Enhance access to finance and markets for SMEs
- Promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the state.
While Responding Hon. Bomkam Ali Wuyep the Director General of (PLASMIDA) expressing excitement about the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Plateau state Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency((PLASMIDA) and the Volunteer Artisans Network (VAN) and its potential impact in the state.

Today's event Marks another milestone in our collective journey toward building a Plateau State where enterprises thrives, Youth are empowered and prosperity is shared across every community.
Let me begin by sincerely appreciating His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment for creating an enabling environment for businesses to grow and for partnerships like this to flourish.
Under his leadership, we witnessed deliberate efforts to reposition Plateau State as a hub of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, where both local and international investors can find a fertile ground to invest, grow and succeed. Your Excellency, your support has been the bedrock of our initiatives at PLASMIDA, from promoting access to financial and market linkages for driving skills acquisition and Youth Empowerment.He further promised the readiness of PLASMIDA to fully implement the MOU .
The partnership between PLASMIDA and VAN is a significant step towards promoting economic development and empowering artisans in Plateau State. With Governor Mutfwang's support, the initiative is poised to make a positive impact on the lives of entrepreneurs and the broader community.
Highlight of event was the presentation of customized PLATEAU ARTISANS COMMUNITY PROJECT Jacket to the DG PLASMIDA and the officially signing of MoU.
