Empowering Nigerian Children For Greater Impact
The USAID-funded Northern Education Initiative Plus (the Initiative) project, in partnership with governments of Bauchi and Sokoto states, has improved literacy instruction for 500,000 P1-P3 pupils and increased access for 150,000 Out of School Children through Non-Formal Learning Centers. The project has also printed and distributed over five million state-of-the-art Mu Karanta! Let’s Read! teaching and learning materials (in Hausa and English) to primary schools and Non-Formal Learning Centers and trained about 8,000 teachers in Early Grade Reading (EGR).
