ABOUT ELIJAH'S WIDOWS AND ORPHANS MISSION INT'L (EWOMI NGO)
Elijah's Widows and Orphans Mission Int'l (EWOMI) NGO. is a Nigerian non-governmental and humanitarian organization founded in 2014 by Chap. Amb. Elijah Obaka John, with a commitment to giving hope, dignity, opportunity, and a voice to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society.
EWOMI was established from a strong conviction that widows, orphans, vulnerable children, women, and underserved communities deserve not only compassion and immediate assistance, but also sustainable opportunities that can help them build better and more independent lives.
• OUR VISION:
To see a society where every widow, orphan, vulnerable child, woman, and disadvantaged person has access to dignity, education, opportunities, healthcare, empowerment, and the basic support needed to live a meaningful and productive life.
• OUR MISSION:
To provide humanitarian assistance, educational support, empowerment opportunities, healthcare interventions, advocacy, and community-development initiatives for widows, orphans, vulnerable children, women, and underserved communities.
EWOMI NGO seeks to achieve this mission by working with individuals, government institutions, corporate organizations, development partners, philanthropists, volunteers, and other stakeholders who share our commitment to improving lives.
• OUR CORE AREAS
OF INTERVENTION.
1. Widows and Vulnerable Women Empowerment.
EWOMI supports widows and vulnerable women through economic empowerment initiatives, skills development, income-generating activities, leadership and financial-management training, and access to opportunities that can strengthen their livelihoods.
2. Orphans and Vulnerable Children.
We provide support to vulnerable children through educational assistance, welfare interventions, learning materials, scholarships, basic necessities, and other initiatives designed to improve their wellbeing and future prospects.
3. Education and Back-to-School Support.
Education is one of EWOMI's key areas of intervention. Through our back-to-school campaigns and educational-support programs, we help children from disadvantaged families access essential school materials and return to school with greater confidence and hope.
4. Healthcare and Medical Support.
EWOMI NGO supports healthcare-related interventions for underserved communities, including medical outreach, health awareness, and initiatives aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services.
5. Humanitarian Relief
We respond to the needs of vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of food, clothing, educational materials, household items, and other forms of humanitarian assistance whenever resources and partnerships permit.
6. Community Development
EWOMI works with communities to identify pressing needs and develop initiatives that promote social wellbeing, opportunity, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
• OUR APPROACH
EWOMI believes that effective humanitarian work goes beyond giving temporary assistance. Our approach combines compassion with empowerment.
We seek to address immediate needs while also creating opportunities for beneficiaries to become more resilient and economically productive. Through partnerships, advocacy, education, empowerment, and community-based interventions, we work toward sustainable positive change.
• OUR IMPACT
Since its establishment in 2014, EWOMI has carried out humanitarian and community-support activities benefiting widows, orphans, vulnerable children, women, and families in underserved communities.
Our initiatives have included educational support and back-to-school activities, scholarships, women's empowerment, humanitarian assistance, community outreach, and healthcare-related interventions.
One of our continuing priorities is ensuring that children from vulnerable families are not denied educational opportunities because of poverty or difficult circumstances.
