We are not moving past this.
39 children, 7 teachers. Kidnapped in Oyo State. Torn from the places that were supposed to be the safest — their schools, their communities, their everyday lives. 46 families are now waiting, desperate and terrified, for news that has not come fast enough.
FAME Foundation condemns this kidnapping in the strongest possible terms. Not with a carefully worded statement. With outrage. Because outrage is the only appropriate response when 46 lifes are taken, and the world continues turning as if it is normal.
We are calling on the Oyo State Government, Seyi Makinde to treat this with the full force of emergency response it demands. We are calling on the Nigerian Police Force and all security agencies to mobilise every available resource until these children are found. We are calling on the Federal Government to treat the kidnapping of these 46 Nigerians as the national crisis that it is.
Your children's names deserve to be on every screen in this country until they are home.
Bring them home. All 46. Now.
