On this International Day of Families, we are reminded that families are not just social units, they are the first classrooms, the first support systems, and often, the first place where values are shaped.

At LeadUp, this matters deeply because:
📍Strong families raise confident individuals

📍Stable homes nurture future leaders

📍Support systems fuel productivity, resilience, and growth

📍Values learnt at home influence decisions in boardrooms, communities, and nations

In a fast-paced world chasing results, it’s easy to overlook the quiet power of family.

Yet, behind every thriving professional, impactful leader, or change-maker, there is often a family that believed, supported, and stood firm.

Today is a gentle reminder: building people starts with strengthening families.

How is your work, leadership, or organisation contributing to stronger families not just stronger outputs?

Let’s build systems that don’t just succeed, but sustain the people behind the success.

LeadUp was present at the Stakeholders Validation Meeting hosted by the National Population Commission in collaboration with the WISH D-P&S Programme, a UK-funded initiative advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Nigeria.

Beyond the technical discussions, one message stood out clearly: We must advocate not just for demographic data, but for a credible, up-to-date census.

This matters because data is not just numbers, it shapes policies, budgets, and ultimately, lives.

Key takeaways for decision-makers:
📍Institutionalise the use of dependency ratios and population projections

📍Align resource allocation with population structure

📍Strengthen evidence-based planning across the health sector

These demographic briefs are more than documents, they are tools to drive smarter investments, equitable health outcomes, and sustainable development.

Are we ready to make decisions that truly reflect the people we serve?

Now is the time to move from conversation to commitment.
Data-driven governance is not optional, it is essential.

Not all migration is about opportunity.

Sometimes, it’s about survival.

“Insecurity and climate vulnerability are increasingly driving migration toward safer urban centres.”

This insight from the 59th Session of UNCPD is not just a statement, it’s a reality unfolding across communities, especially in vulnerable regions.

At LeadUp, this resonates deeply with the work we do and the urgency we feel.
📍Families are leaving homes not by choice, but by necessity

📍Urban centres are absorbing pressure they are not fully prepared for

📍Climate shocks and insecurity are reshaping population patterns faster than policy responses

This is more than movement, it’s a signal.

A signal that demands data-driven action, inclusive planning, and sustainable solutions that protect both people and places.

We cannot afford to respond late.
The question is, are we building systems that anticipate this shift, or merely reacting to it?

Let’s not normalise displacement, let’s design for resilience.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we celebrate the heartbeat of our health systems, nurses.

At LeadUp, where health is a core thematic focus, we recognise that beyond policies and innovations, it is nurses who hold systems together with skill, empathy, and resilience.

This matters now more than ever👇:
📍Nurses are critical to achieving equitable and accessible healthcare

📍They bridge the gap between communities and health systems

📍They are frontline responders in crises from pandemics to climate-related health risks

📍Investing in nurses means strengthening entire health systems

Yet, many continue to face workforce shortages, burnout, and limited support.

Are we doing enough to support those who care for everyone else?

Today is not just about appreciation, it is a call to prioritise their wellbeing, amplify their voices, and invest in their future.

Let’s move from applause to action.
Join us in celebrating, supporting, and advocating for nurses today and always.

AI conversations are no longer about hype, they are about impact.

At a recent Non-Profit AI Breakout Session in Birmingham, USA, attended by the Executive Director of LeadUp, one message stood out clearly: The most valuable AI is the one that solves real problems.

With over 1,500 participants engaged bi-monthly across education, marketing, and data, the mission is simple yet powerful: Accelerate AI adoption for meaningful work.

What does that look like in practice?
Plan
• Clearly define the problem
• Set measurable outcomes
• Identify the right tools
• Continuously refine your approach

Execute
• Provide clear context and examples
• Delegate effectively to AI systems
• Review outputs with intention

Review
• Test results thoroughly
• Consider edge cases
• Seek feedback and improve

The goal for 2026 is bold but necessary: AI that actually does things.

For non-profits, this is not optional, it is how we scale impact, optimise resources, and stay relevant.

Are you using AI to impress people, or to solve problems that matter?

If this resonates, it’s time to move from curiosity to action. The work that matters cannot wait.

Most people don’t feel climate change in graphs; they feel it in their bodies.

A child struggling to breathe.
A heatwave that won’t let you sleep.
Water that no longer feels safe to drink.

At LeadUp, we see this connection every day:
📍Rising temperatures → heat stress, dehydration, worsening chronic illnesses

📍Poor air quality → increased respiratory diseases like asthma

📍Flooding & water contamination → outbreaks of cholera and other infections

📍Food insecurity → malnutrition, especially among vulnerable populations

This isn’t just an environmental issue.
It’s a public health emergency.

And the truth is, those who contribute the least to climate change often suffer the most.

The question is no longer “Is climate change real?”
It’s “What are we doing to protect lives today?”

At LeadUp, we are committed to driving conversations, solutions, and actions that put people at the centre of climate and health interventions.

What climate-related health impact have you seen or experienced in your community?
Let’s talk. Your voice matters.

“Digital payment access alone is not enough; trust and usability remain critical barriers for women entrepreneurs.”

This line from the 59th session of UNCPD hasn’t left us.

Across communities, we see the same pattern👇:
📍Women have the tools but hesitate to use them

📍Platforms exist but feel complex or unsafe

📍Opportunities are present but confidence is missing

Access without trust is friction.
Access without usability is exclusion.

If we truly want to empower women entrepreneurs, we must go beyond provision and focus on:
📍Building trust through transparency and security

📍Designing simple, intuitive user experiences

📍Strengthening digital literacy and confidence

For us at LeadUp, this is more than a conversation, it’s a call to action.

When women trust the system, they don’t just participate, they thrive, scale, and transform economies.

Are we designing solutions that women can access or solutions they can truly use and trust?

Let’s build systems that work for everyone.

Some rooms don’t just host conversations, they shape global priorities.

Still reflecting on the close of the 59th Session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development 59th Session (UNCPD).

LeadUp Executive Director alongside some of the former and current National Population Commission staff, Lucia, Dr Funmilayo Kehinde Seun-Addie,Dr Tellson Osifo Ojogun - the Director General of NPC, Margaret Edison had the privilege of engaging with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Executive Director Diene Keita, during the closing ceremony.

Moments like this signal more than presence, they reflect impact, alignment, and opportunity.

Key takeaways👇:
📍Strengthening global partnerships that drive population and development outcomes

📍Positioning our work within international conversations that shape policy and action

📍Expanding networks that unlock collaboration beyond borders

📍Reinforcing the importance of data, advocacy, and sustainable solutions

This is a strategic time for us at LeadUp, a reminder that the work we do continues to resonate on a global stage.

How are we leveraging global platforms to drive local impact?

Let’s keep building, connecting, and showing up where it matters most.

At LeadUp, we honour the resilience of Africa’s workforce because true labour dignity means safeguarding our people, our minds, and our planet.

This month, let’s double down on👇:
📍Health: Universal well-being for every worker, beyond the clinic.

📍Education: Skills that prepare us for green economies and AI futures.

📍Climate action: Just transitions that create decent, sustainable work.

Tag a colleague whose work silently advances one of these three frontiers.
Let’s celebrate the real impact.

Which of these three areas; Health, Education, or Climate is most critical for worker dignity in your field right now?

Share this to spotlight a worker who deserves more than applause, they deserve action. Let’s build the future together.

Population issues demand more than conversation. They require urgency, strategy, and action.

At Nigeria House, New York City, during UNCPD59, the Executive Director of LeadUp joined the Nigeria delegation to provide technical support to the National Population Commission (NPC) in a high-level brainstorming session.

The focus was clear: strengthening Nigeria’s response to population challenges with practical, forward-thinking solutions.

Key priorities discussed👇:
📍Leveraging technology and AI for faster, smarter decision-making
📍Convening the right stakeholders to address pressing population issues
📍Translating dialogue into measurable, real-world impact.

LeadUp’s presence reflects our growing role at the intersection of population, policy, innovation, and demographic dividend.
We are committed to solutions that are👇:
📍Evidence-informed
📍Technology-enabled
📍Built through collaboration
From dialogue to direction.
From evidence to action.

The real question is: how do we move faster from conversations to tangible outcomes that impact lives at scale?

If you’re working at the intersection of data, policy, and development, this is a call to do more, together.

LeadUp has been chosen as a participant for the Climate Reality Flagship US Training taking place on 1st–2nd May 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee and this is more than an opportunity; it’s a responsibility.

Climate change is no longer a distant conversation, it's here, personal and it’s shaping the future of everything we do.

At LeadUp, Climate Action isn’t a buzzword, it’s one of our core thematic priorities. This training aligns directly with our commitment to drive sustainable impact, climate advocacy, and solution-driven leadership.

Why this matters deeply to us👇:
📍Knowledge to Action: Gaining practical, global insights to strengthen local solutions
📍Strategic Partnerships: Connecting with climate leaders and changemakers across the world
📍Scalable Impact: Bringing back frameworks that can be adapted to communities we serve
📍Youth & Community Engagement: Amplifying awareness and driving behavioural change at grassroots level

This isn’t just about attending a training.
It’s about returning with tools, insights, and renewed urgency to accelerate climate solutions where they are needed most.
The truth is that climate conversation cannot be left to governments alone. It requires all of us, organisations, communities, and individuals stepping up.

As we prepare for Nashville, we carry one question with us: What role will YOU play in shaping a climate-resilient future?

Let’s move from awareness to action.
Let’s lead, collaborate, and build solutions that outlive us.

Let's connect if you will be attending.
