We are excited to announce the successful launch of the Iye Women’s Network in Idah!

Our recent retreat brought women together for a powerful day of bonding, relaxation, collaboration, and networking. For many participants, it was their first time experiencing yoga and guided wellbeing stretches led by Helena Taylor from the UK; the feedback was beautiful — a moment of calm, connection, and renewed confidence.

“Iye” means Mother in Igala, symbolising strength, leadership, and community. This network is open to all women, including small and medium business owners who are ready to grow, learn, and support one another.

During the retreat, participants had the opportunity to engage with senior professionals and hear from inspiring business leaders such as Bidemi Olorunkooba, CEO of Duketrah Fisheries, and Helen Asimegbe, CEO of Stylemark Pro Enterprise, who joined via Zoom to share practical business insights and encouragement.

Our executive committee also met with the Idah Local Government Chairman, Hon. Alfa Halilu, to present our vision for empowering women across the community. We are grateful for his warm reception and the full support he expressed for future collaborations and expansion.

The Iye Women’s Network is just getting started — and together, we are building a stronger, more empowered community of women in Idah.
