The Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN), encourages artistes, producers, publishers, record labels and owners of musical works and sound recordings all over Nigeria to get registered under her umbrella, to enable them receive royalties for public performance of their works all over the country and globally.
It is the legal right of every musician and creator of musical works to get paid for the commercial/public use of their works through any medium, in any form/platform.
The Collective Management Organization (aka CMO) recognized by the Nigerian Copyright Commission over musical works and sound recordings is the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN). MCSN manages the rights of owners of musical works and sound recordings over their work. These rights are assigned, not transferred (pls note, assigned not transfered) to MCSN by the owners i.e. musical artistes, songwriters, producers, record labels, publishers etc., MCSN goes ahead to issue licenses to the public to make use (performance) of these works, collects royalties from them and pays to the owners of the musical works.
As our slogan goes, "connecting creativity with prosperity", it is therefore a win for every music creator and contributor to be a part of MCSN.
