Meet Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh and Adaobi Egboka.

Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh has designed and supervised democracy support programmes across more than two dozen countries, working with civic organisations, political parties, legislatures and election observation missions, while engaging political and civic leaders across the continent.

Adaobi Egboka brings more than 18 years of experience in access to justice, good governance, human rights and democratic accountability, with extensive work supporting civil society and legal institutions across Africa through the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice.

Adaobi will moderate Panel 2: “From Disruption to Delivery: Restoring Trust and Building Resilient Democratic Institutions,” while Dr. Fomunyoh will join the conversation.

Meet Bonolo Makgale.

As a democracy and human rights practitioner and Programme Manager at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, she works across democratic participation, civic engagement, human rights and accountable governance.

Under her leadership, the Pan-African Parliament Civil Society Forum secured an unofficial parliamentary sitting after 19 years of the Pan-African Parliament’s existence, creating a platform for civil society to engage legislators on democracy, human rights and governance. Her work on electoral participation, civic space and democratic accountability makes her a valuable voice on restoring trust and building more responsive democratic institutions.

Bonolo Makgale will speak on Panel 2: “From Disruption to Delivery: Restoring Trust and Building Resilient Democratic Institutions.”

Meet Witney Schneidman.

With more than five decades of experience working on African affairs, Witney Schneidman’s career spans diplomacy, government, business and international policy. He is President and CEO of Schneidman & Associates International and previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs during the Clinton Administration.

He has also worked with the World Bank, the U.S. Department of State and Brookings, where he was a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Africa Growth Initiative. His expertise in trade, investment and economic development offers a valuable perspective on how global partnerships and geopolitical realities shape resilient democratic institutions.
