_The Nigeria Youth Stakeholders Conversation (NYSConversation) 5.0 has released a report recommending a series of economic reforms aimed at strengthening the Naira and revitalizing Nigeria’s economy._

The report, presented by Hon. Blessing Oyefeso—Convener of NYSConversation and President of Nigeria Youths in Politics—highlights critical policy levers for sustainable economic recovery.

Key recommendations includes shifting from oil dependency to a non-oil export-driven economy, revising the Central Bank of Nigeria’s monetary policies to lower inflation, and expedite the passage of the National Tax Crimes and Oversight Commission (NTCOC) Bill to unlock international revenue streams of over $50 Billion dollars annually.

The report identified the federal government’s current revenue generation framework, particularly the sharp rise in customs duties between 2023 and 2024, as a major contributor to weakened purchasing power, high inflation, and increased poverty.

“We must stop relying solely on internal taxation and start tapping into over $50 billion in annual revenue lost through untaxed income of Nigerians and businesses abroad,”
