Cedar Seed Foundation, (CSF) is a Youth led non-governmental, non-profit and non-sectarian membership based development organization that promotes the inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities particularly women and young persons with disabilities into human rights based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. We work to mainstream the issues and concerns of persons with disabilities in Nigeria into the national development agenda based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). Cedar Seed Foundation has been active and running activities for the past five years, though formally registeredwith Corporate Affairs Commision in Nigeriain 2013. OUR GOAL

The problem is that society sometimes decides what a person can contribute before giving them the opportunity to show us.

Inclusion asks us to do something different.

Create the opportunity first.
Let ability reveal itself.

💜 SEEN. SAFE. UNSTOPPABLE. 💜

Sitting with a group of extraordinary women - women with albinism- and listened. To how strangers steal their photos for memes. How they have shrunk themselves online to avoid ridicule. How reading a simple text becomes a struggle when a screen is not built for their eyes.

And yet, in that same room: courage. They didn't just share the pain, they showed up to learn, protect themselves, and reclaim their space online.

At our Inclusive Digital Safety (IDS) session, they learned password security, privacy settings, spotting scams, and accessibility tools like screen magnification and voice assistance - real skills for navigating the digital world with confidence.

Because digital safety is not only firewalls and passwords. It's dignity. It's a woman posting her photo without fear. A girl reading her school portal without straining her eyes. Being seen as capable, not "different."

To every woman with albinism reading this: your story matters, your safety matters, and every corner of this digital world should be built for you, too. 🤍

DIGITAL SAFETY IS AN INCLUSION ISSUE.

What happens when women and girls with disabilities enter a digital world that was never designed with them in mind?

They face barriers. They face exclusion. And too often, they face online violence.

As part of the Luminate Project – “Inclusive Digital Safety for Women and Girls with Disabilities,” Cedar Seed Foundation paid a courtesy visit to Tech Her NG in Abuja to explore how we can build safer, more accessible and inclusive digital spaces.

One finding stood out: 73% of women with disabilities surveyed reported experiencing online violence.

That statistic is more than a number. It is a call to action.

Our conversation explored:
• Digital literacy and safety
• Accessible technology and websites
• Digital financial security
• Technology-facilitated gender-based violence
• Survivor-centred support
• Inclusive digital design
• Advocacy and policy change

Because accessibility is not just about ramps and buildings.

It is also about websites, apps, banking platforms, online learning, healthcare, digital participation and the right to be safe online.

At Cedar Seed Foundation, we believe technology should expand opportunities—not create new barriers.

Together with partners like Tech Her NG, we are working towards a digital ecosystem where women and girls with disabilities can access, participate and thrive safely.

Inclusion must be designed-not added later.

Many Nigerians still do not know that our country has a law protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.

The Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018 was enacted to promote equal rights and prohibit discrimination against persons with disabilities. Among other provisions, it recognises rights relating to education, healthcare, employment, transportation and access to public buildings.

Knowing the law is the first step. Implementing it is the next.

At Cedar Seed Foundation, we believe disability rights are not special privileges. They are human rights that deserve awareness, respect, and action.

🌍 HUMANITY NEEDS US.

On this World Humanitarian Day 2026, we are reminded of a truth that should never be forgotten:

Humanity is not a choice. It is our shared responsibility.

Behind every humanitarian crisis is a person-a child who needs protection, a family seeking safety, a person with a disability demanding inclusion, a community rebuilding after hardship, or a humanitarian worker who continues to serve despite growing risks.

This year’s call to ACT FOR HUMANITY challenges us to move beyond sympathy and into action.

The measure of any society is not how it treats the most powerful but how it treats those who face the greatest barriers to participation.

Supporting persons with disabilities is not an act of charity. It is an act of justice, empathy, and shared humanity.

Every accessible school, inclusive workplace, barrier-free building, and respectful conversation is a reminder that we all have a role to play in building a more equitable society.

When we serve others by removing barriers, everyone moves forward.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF AI: LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND 🤖🌍

What if the future of AI is built without disability in the room?

That’s the question we carried into this week.

Cedar Seed Foundation for People with Disabilities was proud to be represented at the High-Level Stakeholder Roundtable on Nigeria’s Artificial Intelligence Regulation and Digital Policy, jointly convened by AI Safety Nigeria (AISN) and Digital Policy Alert (DPA).

A major milestone from this engagement is the development of a first draft of Nigeria’s AI Safety Regulation and Digital Policy, led by AISN and DPA with Cedar Seed Foundation as a voice representing Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) in the process.

For us, this is more than participation. It is a step toward ensuring accessibility and inclusion are embedded in the policies shaping Nigeria’s digital future.

AI can transform access to education, employment, healthcare, financial services, and civic participation for persons with disabilities. But without deliberate inclusion in policy, regulation, and design, AI could deepen existing inequalities.

Persons with disabilities should not only benefit from the digital future-we must have a voice in building it.

The future of AI must not only be intelligent. It must be inclusive.♿️🤖
