SheGrowsHerFood Initiative
Empowering Women for Food Security

The National Coordinator of SheGrowsHerFood Initiative, Princess Comfort Ifesinachi Nweke, warmly welcomed one of our registered cooperatives, Mma Nwanyi Bu Diya MPCSL, on a courtesy visit to our office demonstration farm.

During the visit, the National Coordinator and members of her team encouraged the farmers to remain strong, focused, and determined despite the challenges facing agriculture and rural farming communities. She emphasized the importance of resilience and urged them not to give up in their efforts to provide food for their families and communities.

As part of our continued commitment to supporting rural women farmers, several farm inputs were distributed to the cooperative members. These included knapsack sprayers, yam seedlings, liquid organic fertilizer, agrochemicals, rice paddy, fertilizer, pesticides, 419 cassava stems, and other essential farming materials.

The cooperative members expressed deep appreciation and joy for the recognition and support received from the Initiative.

Our mission remains unchanged, to empower rural farmers, especially women, and promote sustainable food security in our communities.

Empowering Women for Food Security

The Office of the National Coordinator remains a hub of activity, and this has intensified with the full commencement of the wet season farming.

Registered farmers and cooperatives under the SheGrowsHerFood Initiative are actively receiving farm inputs and various forms of support aimed at empowering them to increase food production for their households and the state at large.

In this phase, the Ikwo Coordinator, Ochudo Cooperative (Ndiagu Amagu), and Nwaliobu Patient of the Office Cooperative were beneficiaries, receiving rice paddy from the National Coordinator, Princess Comfort Ifesinachi Nweke.

We remain committed to this mission and will continue our efforts until our goals are fully realized.

The training and technical team of the SheGrowsHerFood Initiative, under the leadership of National Coordinator Princess Comfort Ifesinachi Nweke, alongside its agronomists, is fully ready for the current farming season.

11/04/2026

The SheGrowsHerFood Initiative is committed to bringing cooperatives together by establishing cluster farmlands where members can farm collectively. As the saying goes, one tree cannot make a forest. When communities unite to farm together, it fosters peace, strengthens harmony, and ensures food abundance. It also encourages productivity, leaving no room for idleness.

This marks the beginning of a true agricultural revolution across Ebonyi State. Under the SheGrowsHerFood Initiative, we have registered thousands of cooperatives spanning all 13 Local Government Areas in the state.

However, accountability remains key. Any cooperative leaders who are inactive must be replaced to ensure progress and effectiveness.

SheGrowsHerFood is dedicated to empowering both women and men, advancing food security, and building a sustainable future for all.

The National Coordinator of the SheGrowsHerFood Initiative continues to empower both women and men to achieve sustainable food security through agricultural support and training.

As part of this effort, Mr./Mrs. John Nwogbaga, Rev. Peter Irem, and Mrs. Chioma Nwokpor have been supported to begin cultivating their own food. They were provided with essential seedlings, including improved 70/30 nursery palm seedlings allocated to Rev. Peter Irem.

Rev. Peter Irem was among the participants at the recent Ministers’ Conference held in Nsukka. The support extended during their visit to the national office serves as an encouragement for beneficiaries to actively engage in food production and self-sufficiency.

As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, may your hearts be filled with His peace, love, and the promise of new life. Easter reminds us of God’s faithfulness and the power of renewal, just as seeds sown in faith grow into a bountiful harvest.

We pray that this season brings you divine strength, abundant blessings, and continued grace in all that you do. May the work of your hands be fruitful, and may you keep shining as vessels of hope, nourishment, and empowerment in your communities.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joy-filled Easter. Christ is risen!
