Today, I had the privilege of visiting female teachers at Isoyin Grammar School, a community in in Ijebu‑Ode, Ogun State, representing BlissBeam Empowerment Initiative as part of our International Women’s Day outreach.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that when we pour into others, we also create room for growth in our own lives.
During my conversation with the amazing female teachers, I shared a simple but important message. The reality of Nigeria’s economy today requires wisdom and adaptability. It is no longer enough to depend on a single income. Having multiple streams of income can help a woman become financially stable, support her home, reduce financial pressure, and build a more secure future.
I encouraged them to see themselves beyond the classroom walls. Teaching is a noble profession, but the skills they use every day such as communication, creativity, knowledge sharing, and leadership can open doors to many other opportunities.
We also talked about the power of technology, especially AI tools. I explained how teachers can use AI to advance their teaching profession by preparing lesson notes faster, creating engaging teaching materials, generating ideas for class activities, and improving their overall productivity.
Another important message I shared with them is this: opportunities are all around us. Many people believe they need huge capital to start something, but that is not always true. Sometimes all that is needed is an idea, consistency, and the willingness to start small.
It was a beautiful moment of learning, sharing, and encouragement. When women empower women, everyone rises. Today we gave, and I truly believe that the seeds planted will grow.
