Three weeks ago Bridge the Gap started with one question.

What is actually standing
between a child and the
education they deserve?

Since then this campaign has taken you through the listening.
The evidence. The institutional partnerships. The three pilot
schools in Bwari Area Council.
The stakeholder conversations.
The preparation.

And today Week 3 closes.

We are not going to tell you everything that is happening behind the scenes right now.

Not because there is nothing to tell.

Because this documentary was never about announcements.

It is about showing you what happens when an organization does the work before it talks about the work.

And right now the work is happening.

Next week Bridge the Gap enters its fourth chapter.

And for the first time in this campaign the story stops being about preparation and starts being about what is actually reaching the
children at the centre of it.

Here is something nobody tells you about doing development work honestly.

When you do it right — when you actually go into communities, gather real evidence, build institutional partnerships and begin implementation with integrity — the right people start paying attention.

Bridge the Gap began with a question three weeks ago.

What is actually standing between a child and the education they deserve?

Since then we have listened to schools, gathered evidence, engaged UBEC, identified three pilot schools in Bwari Area Council, and begun the intervention.

And as that work becomes visible, conversations are opening.

Earlier this week, our team held a strategic meeting with the Executive Director of GESA Initiative, to explore potential areas of collaboration around Bridge the Gap.

We want to be clear about what that means.

This is not a partnership announcement.

It is a conversation.

A shared recognition that the barriers keeping children from completing their education in Nigeria are too significant for any single organization to address alone.

And a willingness on both sides to explore what becomes
possible when organizations with complementary strengths choose
to work toward the same child.

Sometimes the most important work begins exactly here.

In a room. With the right people.
Asking the right questions.

It is about showing you what happens when an organization that listened for months finally begins to act on everything it heard.

WE LISTENED. WE LEARNED. NOW WE ACT. 💙

Two weeks ago, we started with one question: What is really standing between a child and the education they deserve?

Since then, Bridge the Gap has taken us into 3 schools. Not with answers, but with questions.

We sat with students.
We listened to teachers and parents.
We looked at what the evidence was telling us.

Listening was never meant to be the end.
It was the beginning.

Because once you understand the gap, the next question is harder:

What are we going to do about it?

Right now, behind the scenes, we are building that answer with the communities themselves.

We can't show you everything yet. Some parts of this story are still unfolding.

But next week, we take you closer — to what happens when listening becomes action.

For now, we pause here.
Not at the end.
At the moment just before the story changes.

Every story has a location.

A place where the story stops being abstract and becomes real.

For Bridge the Gap that place is Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory.

Three schools.
Three communities.
Thousands of children whose futures are being shaped right now by conditions they did not choose and deserve
not to be defined by.

We did not arrive in Bwari with a programme already designed.

We arrived with questions.

We sat with school leaders who have been navigating resource gaps for years.
We talked with teachers who are giving more than they are resourced to give.
We listened to students who already know who they want to become and are calculating every term whether they can afford to keep going.

Those conversations became the foundation of Bridge the Gap.

Not our assumptions.
Their reality.

Over the coming weeks this campaign will take you inside each of these three schools.

The classrooms. The compounds.
The faces. The stories.

Because the campaign was always going to come down to this.

Not the data. Not the partnerships.
Not the institutional framework.

KIAJER Youth Empowerment Initiative (KYEI) is a youth-led non-governmental organization committed to empowering young people through education, economic empowerment, gender equality, peacebuilding, and humanitarian support. We work with communities to create sustainable opportunities that transform lives.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will support the planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of our programmes by collecting and analyzing data, measuring project performance, and ensuring our interventions deliver meaningful and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks and performance indicators.
• Collect, manage, and analyze programme data.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
• Conduct field monitoring visits and beneficiary assessments.
• Track project progress against organizational objectives.
• Document programme results, lessons learned, and success stories.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to improve programme performance.
• Support staff and volunteers on data collection and reporting processes.

Requirements:

✔ Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.

✔ Minimum of one (1) year experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, research, or programme performance tracking, preferably within an NGO or development organization.

Required Skills:

• Monitoring & Evaluation framework development
• Indicator development and results measurement
• Data collection and survey design
• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis
• Report writing and documentation
• Microsoft Excel and data management tools
• Field assessments and programme reviews
