The Executive Director of Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA), Dr. Hope Omeiza, alongside the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Kogi State, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, paid a facility tour to the NDLEA Kogi State Command Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Lokoja.

The visit followed an invitation from the NDLEA Kogi State Commander, Mr. Mustapha Yahuza, who personally led the tour to showcase the rehabilitation centre's facilities, treatment services, and ongoing efforts in supporting individuals affected by substance use disorders.

The tour provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders committed to advancing drug demand reduction, rehabilitation, and recovery services across Kogi State.

This reaffirms the shared commitment of VGADA, the Kogi State Government, and the NDLEA towards building a healthier, drug-free society through strategic partnerships and coordinated interventions.

As we gradually come to the end of Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded that the conversation must continue beyond June.

As part of our awareness activities, we had the privilege of engaging with men at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, providing a safe space to discuss mental health, emotional well-being, stress, trauma, resilience and the importance of seeking support.

Many men carry invisible burdens and for those living in displacement, these challenges are often even greater. Listening without judgment, offering support and promoting hope can make a lasting difference.
