A generous sister donated ₦110,000 to provide food for families facing financial hardship. By the mercy of Allah, we were able to support two families in Abuja and Plateau State with food items.
The first family is a mother of three living on Almajiri Street in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Her husband has been absent for some time, leaving her as the sole provider for the family.
Sadly, two of her children are living with sickle cell disease, adding medical expenses to the many responsibilities she already carries, including feeding, education, and healthcare.
The family lives in an uncompleted building that was given to them free of charge. To earn a living, the mother looks after people’s children while they go to work, earning about ₦5,000 per month, On weekends, she goes from house to house offering hair-plaiting services to those who need them, earning whatever little she can.
Alhamdulillah, we were able to provide ₦50,000 worth of food items for the family.
The second family is a divorced mother of seven children, residing in Lambun Alaji-Gangare, Jos North, Plateau State.
She is currently battling health challenges and is unable to work. The father of her children has not been financially present, leaving her to shoulder the responsibility of raising and providing for all seven children on her own.
After her divorce, she returned to live with her elderly mother as she struggled to make ends meet. With the mother’s health preventing her from working, the older children help by frying qosai (bean cakes) in front of the house, while their grandmother sells vegetables from home. This is how the family manages to survive and put food on the table.
Alhamdulillah, we were able to deliver ₦60,000 worth of food items to the family.
May Allah accept this donation as an act of ibadah.
