Last week, we had the privilege of participating in a one-day stakeholders’ engagement at the invitation of Nigeria To***co Control Alliance (NTCA), organized in collaboration with Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA)
The engagement focused on the dissemination of findings from the Nigeria To***co Industry Interference Index (2025) a critical report that sheds light on how to***co industry activities can influence public health policies and to***co control efforts in Nigeria.
It was an insightful and impactful gathering that brought together stakeholders committed to protecting public health. The discussions provided a valuable platform to examine key findings from the Index, reflect on their implications for Nigeria’s to***co control landscape, and collectively explore stronger advocacy pathways and policy actions moving forward.
Participants shared valuable perspectives and practical recommendations, reinforcing one important truth: the media must remain at the forefront of promoting safe health narratives and shaping public awareness. Through responsible reporting and sustained advocacy, the media continues to play a vital role in safeguarding communities from the dangers of to***co use and substance abuse.
Following the engagement, we proceeded to Real 99.3 FM for an appearance on Talk Your Own with , where our Executive Director shared important insights on the growing concerns around substance abuse, the societal implications, and the urgent need for collective action.
Moments like these remind us that multi-stakeholder collaboration is essential in building healthier communities and protecting future generations.
Together, through advocacy, awareness, and sustained action,
we can continue to build a safer society and a healthier future for the next generation.
