What happens to life after prison? How are inmates, equipped and supported not just for seamless reintegration into society, but to truly stay out of prisons for good?🤔

The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme is currently holding a 2-day Correctional Reform Grantee Partners' Retreat with Prison Fellowship Nigeria, PRAWA, Hope Behind Bars Africa, and REJA to:

1. Review progress and achievements made by grant partners in the area of correctional
reforms.

2. Identify common challenges and opportunities in implementing correctional reform initiatives and
explore practical solutions.

3. Enhance collaboration and synergy among partners to maximize impact, avoid duplication, and
leverage shared resources and knowledge products.

Through the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme funded by the European Union in Nigeria, and implemented by International IDEA, partners are forging paths to redemption, contribution, and unbreakable second chances for inmates post prison sentence👌

📌 Analyze systemic failures by critically examining the various points of failure in the processing of minors by the criminal/juvenile justice service chain, drawing heavily on the findings from the initial case study development.

📌 Mobilize stakeholders including the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, Police, Correctional Service, Legal Aid, and CSOs, to collectively brainstorm and propose actionable solutions

‎There were only 11 Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) across 10 States in Nigeria when the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme, funded by the European Union in Nigeria started.

‎Following Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption' intervention, there are now 50 SARCs across 24 states as of September 2025, with 58,134 survivors supported (compared to 4,000 survivors supported in 2017)👏

‎The 11th Network Conference of Sexual Assault Referral Centres holding today & tomorrow in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Justice seeks to build on these successes, particularly by:

- Addressing factors that discourage survivors and their families from pursuing justice

- Addressing and handling the evolving terrain that is tech facilitated gender based violence, while ensuring survivors get continued psychosocial counselling👌
