12th March 2026: Earlier this morning in at the 2026 Humanitarian Networking and Partnership (HPNW) Week. I spoke at the high-level technical session on exploring how young leaders can drive the humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus from theory to practice.
From early warning systems to peace building and community recovery, I spoke on the cost-benefit (or lack thereof) of applying a Youth analysis framework to the reset discourse on nexus of humanitarian-development-peace systems by 2030.
Thank you Nigeria for the opportunity.
Key highlights from my interventions here focussed on Resetting the System: The role of young people in driving a Nexus-Based Humanitarian Future. Specifically:
1. Costing the Inaction of meaningful Youth engagement
2. Supporting the development of costed National YPS Frameworks and ActionPlans at local levels
3. Establishing dissegrated by gender and age cohorts, data intelligence dashboards on the Youth lens of HDP (building on HRPs)
4. Support Youth led accountability, co-leadership, monitoring, coordination and evidence based advocacy
