Over a decade ago, a young man who once had nothing made a quiet promise: that if he ever had something, no child around him would have to go without.
That promise has since become a body of work with receipts. Orphans in the FCT, Borno, and Adamawa were sheltered, fed, clothed, and schooled — not occasionally, but as a standing commitment. A school built in Abuja from the ground up. Hundreds of men, women, and children evacuated to safety when violence tore through Borno State, cared for until they could stand on their own again. And through the Youth Empowerment Scheme, over 170+ young people were handed full aviation scholarships, doors into careers that used to be locked to people who looked like them. Tens of millions of naira committed to this work, every single year, quietly, long before anyone was watching.
None of this happens by accident. It happens because one man decided, over a decade ago, that having something means owing something back — and he has never once treated that as optional.
Today, we're not celebrating an institution. We're celebrating the heart behind it.
Happy Birthday, Engr. Isaac David Balami. From all of us at the Isaac Balami Foundation! Thank you for over a decade of generosity that never asked for applause. May this new year of your life return to you every good thing you have poured into others: more strength, more joy, more grace, and many more years to keep that massive heart beating for the people who need it most.
Happy Birthday, Sir! 🎉 The world needs more hearts like yours.
