December 22 – *Seeking God’s Face, Not Just His Hand*

“Seek My face.” – Psalm 27:8 (NKJV)
It is possible to know God’s power and still miss His presence. Many seek God’s hand: His provision, protection, and intervention, but few linger long enough to seek His face. Yet, it is in His face that His heart is revealed. When David heard God say, “Seek My face,” his response was immediate and wholehearted: “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” That is the language of intimacy.
Seeking God’s face means desiring His presence above His presents. It is choosing communion over convenience, relationship over results. When you seek His face, you begin to understand His ways, not just His works. You learn His heart, discern His voice, and align with His desires. In that place, prayer is no longer a transaction, it becomes fellowship.
I have discovered that when my prayer life is reduced to requests alone, it grows dry. But when I pause to worship, adore, and simply be with God, clarity and peace return. In His presence, burdens lighten, questions find answers, and direction becomes clear, often without words.
The beautiful mystery is this: when you seek God for who He is, what you need begins to pursue you. His hand naturally follows those who love His face. Provision flows from presence. Direction flows from devotion. Power flows from intimacy.
As this year draws to a close, let your deepest prayer be this: “Lord, I want You more than what You can do for me.” In seeking His face, you will find everything else added in due season.
*Discovery Punchline:* When you seek His face, His hand follows.
*Prayer Confession:*
Father, draw me beyond requests into deep intimacy with You. I seek Your face above all else. Let my heart delight in Your presence, and let my life be shaped by knowing You. In Jesus name. Amen.
