Making innovation count for the last mile.

The Gender and Inclusion Summit 2026 (GS-26) Organized by the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) in collaboration/Partnership with other Organizations and bodies; Government, International and Non Governmental Organizations was a power packed Women's event.

Venue : Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja Continental Hotel.

From Agenda to Action:Making Innovations Count For The Last Mile.

GS-26 Welcomed Notable Women from all walks of life, who brainstormed and discussed challenges peculiar to the female folks, created pathways/ frameworks, put together innovative ideas, proffering solutions through necessary actions designed to reach the "Last Mile" ( The Vulnerable).

Keynote speeches were taken by The Executive Director PIC - Dr. Osasuyi Dirisu, The Minister of Women's Affairs - Hon. Imaan Sulaiman - Ibrahim, H.E. Patrick Achi, President, National Assembly of Cote d'Ivoire; Former Prime Minister of Cote d'Ivoire.

Opening Speech by H.E Erelu Bisi Adeleye - Fayemi.

So many speakers took turns to deliver very meaningful and brilliant speeches during the event.

This event was exciting and covered topics ranging from creating access to credit and capital, Girl Child Education in ending early marriages, GBVs, SRH, Women's Mental Health, New Innovations to Food Productions and also interesting introducing and maximizing AI use.

The delivery designs in financing, systems and scales for Women's Economic Growth covers the following areas; HerEconomy, HerBusiness, HerSafety and HerTechnology in achieving a 1 trillion dollar economic goal.

Women are encouraged to maximize the use of the different market accesses and financial institutions in getting equipped, scale higher in business and build strong economic and financial systems, by exploring all opportunities with clarity and especially through proper data collection and management processes to inform decision making.

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia speaking on behalf of the President - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR said, "She is included " must be more than a campaign or an annual conference and anchored as an endearing National delivery framework for Women's prosperity and a mechanism through which policy transits to programs and programs to opportunities and eventually to results.

Speaking on The President and Vice President's Renewed Hope Agenda and the Aso Accord for EFI signed 25th of April 2025, mandates - providing and promoting collaborations between various Sectors and the birthed "ShesIncluded"to enhance Economic and Financial Inclusion.

Dr. Aliyu Modibo,The Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, representing The Vice President - His Excellency, Sen. Kashim Shettima GCON emphasized that; who is reached? and who is excluded will aid designing for deliveries and provide implementable solutions.

The Hon. Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman - Ibrahim who is the Co-Host for the event during her speech said, women have gone past asking to be financially included and now at a point where PreCEFI is designing delivery for scale and impact following assembled delivery chain such that can be accessible even to the hard to reach persons and areas.

Dr. Nurudeen Zauro, The Convener and the Technical Advisor to The President on Economic and Gender Inclusion and a very passionate "He for She" in Nigeria, during The "She is Included" 02 said it's a journey of migration from theories now to practicalization.

His Excellency, Mallam Umar Namadi, the Jigawa State Governor was represented by The Hon. Commissioner of Women Affairs, Jigawa State - Hajiya Hadiza Abdulwahab who reaffirmed Jigawa State support for the National effort to translate gender inclusion into measurable results. During her speech she stated that Jigawa State is ready to align its own reform to the national goal.

The commissioner welcomes all empowerment ideas for Women's economic growth.

The Hon. Minister of FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud emphasized that investing in Women is investing in a Nation and empowerment outcomes should be measured rather than number of beneficiaries.

Sharing her goodwill messages, she stated that an inclusive capital city must create opportunities for Women, Young People, Vulnerable groups and indigenous communities. Dr. Mariya said gender responsive budgeting mechanism will help women participate more.

It was an all encompassing event where women converged and again discussed delivery systems and opportunities available for national growth, inclusion and even much more scalability.
