As we reflect on Father's Day, we are reminded that the impact of a father figure goes far beyond providing for a child.

It is in the encouragement to keep going when things get tough.
It is in the conversations that build confidence.
It is in the lessons, guidance, support, and presence that help shape a child's future.

Over the years, we have been privileged to work with fathers, mentors, teachers, community leaders, and other men who have contributed to our programs and supported the children we serve.

Whether by sharing their knowledge, volunteering their time, speaking words of encouragement, or simply showing up, they have played a role in helping children see possibilities for themselves.

At Beyond the Classroom Foundation, we believe that every child deserves a support system. We know that creating opportunities for children is not the responsibility of one person alone. It takes families, communities, and individuals who are willing to invest in the next generation.

Today, we celebrate and appreciate the men who continue to show up for children, both within their homes and in their communities.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Words matter.

At Beyond the Classroom Foundation, we believe that the words we speak to girls today can shape the women they become tomorrow.

For every girl we work with, one thing remains constant: we end with a pledge.

Not because it's a routine, but because we understand the power of affirmation.

"I am capable."
"I am smart."
"I am enough."
"I am a leader."
"I can achieve my dreams."

These are more than words.

They are seeds planted in hearts and minds. Seeds that challenge self-doubt, build confidence, and remind girls of who they truly are.

In a world that is often quick to tell girls what they cannot do, we choose to remind them of who they are and all they can become.

They are not too small.
They are not ordinary.
They are not limited by their circumstances.

They are powerful, capable, and full of potential.

Long after the sessions end and the cameras are gone, these words remain. They take root. They grow. And in time, they begin to manifest in the way these girls see themselves, the choices they make, and the futures they dare to pursue.

Never underestimate the power of speaking life into a girl.

The right words, spoken consistently, can change everything.

Before it became a program, REIGNITE was a response to a reality we could no longer ignore: too many girls were being left behind by circumstances beyond their control.

In March 2025, we launched REIGNITE 1.0, an initiative designed to support out-of-school girls as they take steps toward returning to education and reclaiming their futures.

Through mentorship, confidence-building sessions, practical learning experiences, and a supportive community, these girls were reminded of a powerful truth: their stories are not over.

For three impactful days, we learned together, shared experiences, built confidence, and reignited hope.

REIGNITE is more than a project. It is a commitment to ensuring that every girl, regardless of her circumstances, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

As we look back on REIGNITE 1.0, we celebrate the courage of every girl who chose to believe in her future and take another step forward.

And this is only the beginning.

Behind every photo is a girl with dreams, potential, and a future worth investing in.

Over the years, we've met girls who aspire to become doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, teachers, and changemakers. Girls who are bright, resilient, and determined to succeed despite the challenges they face.

But for far too many girls, barriers that should not exist continue to stand in the way of their education, confidence, and wellbeing. One of those barriers is period poverty.

A girl should never have to miss school, lose confidence, or fall behind because she cannot access basic menstrual hygiene products.

This is why our work continues. It is why initiatives like Fund HER Flow matter.

Because empowering girls goes beyond inspiration, it means removing the barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential.

Together, we can create a world where every girl has the support, dignity, and opportunity she deserves.

Every meaningful change starts somewhere.

Sometimes, it's a conversation that inspires confidence.

Sometimes, it's a mentorship session that opens new possibilities.

Sometimes, it's providing the right support at the right time.

At Beyond the Classroom Foundation, we've seen how seemingly small actions can create lasting change in the lives of children, adolescents, and families.

As we begin a new week, we're reminded that impact is built one step, one person, and one community at a time.

A friend and long-time supporter of our work sent me this video of a newspaper campaign in South Africa.

The newspaper had what looked like menstrual blood stains across several pages.

I thought it was a bold statement.

And honestly, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

For many people, it was just a newspaper campaign. But for those of us who have spent years working with girls, it was a reminder of a reality that millions of girls face every month.

Periods are normal, yet many girls still struggle to access sanitary products, manage their periods with dignity, or even stay in school during that time of the month.

I have been working on menstrual health education for over 10 years, and one thing I have learned is that silence does not solve problems. Conversations do.

Sometimes it takes a bold campaign to get people talking about something they would rather avoid.

Because at the end of the day, menstruation should never be the reason a girl misses school, loses confidence, or feels ashamed of her body.

As we continue our Fund Her Flow Campaign, we are raising support to provide sanitary pads and menstrual health education to girls who need them most.

Menstrual Hygiene Day may be over, but the reality of period poverty remains.

Every month, girls continue to face challenges accessing menstrual hygiene products, managing their periods safely, and staying confident in school.

Awareness days are important, but the work does not end when the calendar changes.

Through the Fund HER Flow Campaign, we are continuing our efforts to ensure that girls have access to menstrual hygiene support, accurate information, and the dignity they deserve.

Because menstrual health is not a one-day conversation.
It is a daily reality.

Growing up, so many of us were taught to whisper about periods.
Hide the pad. Hide the pain. Hide the stain.

And honestly, a lot of girls are still growing up like that today.

Some girls still miss school because they can’t afford sanitary pads. Some are too ashamed to ask questions. Some are navigating their periods with fear, confusion, or embarrassment instead of confidence and support.

But menstruation is not shameful. It is normal.
And no girl should feel less because of it.

Through our work at Beyond the Classroom Foundation, we’ve had honest conversations with girls in schools and communities, and one thing is clear: when girls are informed and supported, everything changes. They show up differently. They feel seen. They feel confident.

So today, on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day, let’s normalize the conversation. Let’s educate better. Let’s stop making girls feel embarrassed about something natural.

And beyond awareness, let’s support girls in practical ways too because dignity should never be a luxury.

Every girl deserves to feel safe, confident, and proud of her body.
