Five days. One clear outcome: stronger, safer frontline care in Lagos.
Following continued interventions to cushion the effects of displacement and the evolving humanitarian situation in Makoko, UNFPA Nigeria, in partnership with the Lagos State Government and Action Health Incorporated, has equipped health and GBV Case Managers with the skills that matter in high-risk and humanitarian settings.
The focus was practical: GBV case management, mental health and psychosocial support, survivor-centred referrals and follow ups, and protection against sexual exploitation and abuse.
This is not theoretical. These responders are now moving into Makoko with mapped services, clear protocols, and the capacity to act, quickly and responsibly.
Capacity is built. Systems are sharper. Accountability is clearer.
Leaving No one behind.
