What is Grape?
Grape is a fruit. A sweet, juicy fruit.
But what is R**e?
R**e is violence.
R**e is violation.
R**e is trauma that echoes for a lifetime.
R**e is every girl-child’s nightmare.
So call it what it is — R**E.
Stop hiding it behind metaphors.
Stop softening it.
Stop silencing it.
Ochanya Ogbanje was r***d not gr***d
She was r***d repeatedly, not by strangers,
but by the very people who were meant to protect her —
A father and his son.
Two predators. Two monsters bound by blood,
united in violence.
Her small body broke under the weight of their cruelty.
Her life was stolen before it ever had a chance to unfold.
Ochanya deserved protection.
She deserved safety.
She deserved life but it was taken from her
SHE deserves justice
There are countless Ochanyas among us:
Girls and women living with wounds that cannot be seen,
Voices trapped behind fear, shame, and a society that asks them to be silent.
Our justice system failed her.
It continues to fail so many like her.
So we ask — for how long?
How do perpetrators of such evil walk freely?
Where is the justice our laws promise?
Where do we turn when the system refuses to protect us?
We will not forget.
We will not look away.
We will not be silent.
Say her name. Say it loudly. Say it with purpose.
Say her name — OCHANYA.
A bright young girl whose light was dimmed too soon.
OCHANYA.
