.....Facility to Provide Free Internet, Digital Boards and 24/7 Power Supply for Students and Community
Senator Shuaib Afolabi SALISU OMOYAYI, FNCS, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, has inspected the ongoing construction of a Community ICT Laboratory at Methodist High School, Arigbajo, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The inspection, conducted earlier today, was led by Hon. Fasiu Alimi on behalf of the Senatorial office, with the team assessing the progress of work and the quality of construction at the facility.
The ICT Laboratory project is designed to provide a modern digital learning environment for students, young people and other members of the community. The facility will be equipped with solar-powered 24/7 electricity, free all-day internet access and digital boards, among other ICT infrastructure.
The provision of solar power is expected to ensure that users have reliable electricity to access the facility and its digital resources, while the free internet service will provide students and community members with greater access to online educational materials, research resources and digital opportunities.
The Arigbajo project is one of several new projects currently ongoing across the six Local Government Areas that make up Ogun Central Senatorial District. The interventions are aimed at promoting grassroots development, improving access to technology and creating opportunities for constituents, particularly young people.
The inspection team was joined by prominent party leaders and stakeholders from Arigbajo Ward, including Chief Aikulola Bisayo, Local Government Party Vice Chairman; Hon. Olasunkanmi Olabode, GLO; Prince Aremu Aboloyinde, Ward Chairman; Alhaja Modinat Hassan, Local Government Women Leader; and Hon. Wasiu Anisere, Councillor and Deputy Leader, among others.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Alimi reaffirmed Senator Salisu’s commitment to ensuring that projects facilitated across Ogun Central are delivered according to specification and provide meaningful benefits to the people.
The project also reflects Senator Salisu’s broader focus on education, digital inclusion and human capital development, particularly in line with his responsibilities as Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity.
Upon completion, the Arigbajo Community ICT Laboratory is expected to serve as a hub for digital learning, skills acquisition and access to technology, providing students and residents of Arigbajo and neighbouring communities with greater opportunities to participate in the digital economy.
