Despite progress over the past ten years, millions of children around the world still live in extreme poverty. In 2024, 412 million children lived on less than $3/day, down from 507 million in 2014. But regional disparities are stark. In Sub-Saharan Africa, more than half of all children still live below the extreme poverty line, virtually unchanged since 2014.
