Millions of young people. Different communities. Different realities. Different dreams.

Yet they share one aspiration: the opportunity to shape a better future.

That means having access to information, opportunities and meaningful choices about their health, education, relationships and lives.

This International Youth Day, we at MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices celebrate young Nigerians shaping their futures.

This year’s theme, “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people today and for the future,” reminds us that behind every statistic is a young person with dreams, ambitions, and the right to shape their own future.

With 70% of Nigeria’s population under the age of 30, investing in young people’s health, rights, and opportunities is an investment in the country’s future.

At MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices, we are committed to ensuring that young people have access to accurate information and quality sexual and reproductive healthcare through our clinics, community outreach programmest, contact centre, and other service delivery channels. By removing barriers to care, we empower them to make informed choices, pursue their aspirations, and achieve their full potential.

When young people are empowered to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health, they are better positioned to stay in school, pursue careers, build healthy relationships, and plan the futures they envision for themselves.

This World Population Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting young people to realise their hopes and aspirations today and for the future.

As Nigeria advances efforts towards its FP2030 commitments, strong partnerships remain essential to expanding access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Through its partnership with governments at both national and sub-national levels across Nigeria, MSI Nigeria has worked to strengthen health systems, increase access to quality family planning services, build the capacity of healthcare workforce, and improve reproductive health outcomes across the state.

In today’s edition of 17 Voices at 50, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, Commissioner for Health, Bayelsa State, reflects on the value of this partnership with the Bayelsa State government ,and the impact it has delivers for the people of Bayelsa State.
