Our Climate Football Festival Continues to Make Impact

⚽🌍 Safe and inclusive play is more than football — it is about giving children a sense of belonging, confidence, protection, and hope.

Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG was proud to continue hosting the Climate Football Festival at primary schools across Nigeria, bringing together young learners for a day of football, learning, teamwork, and positive engagement.

The event created a safe space where children could play freely, build friendships, strengthen leadership skills, and experience the power of inclusion through sports. We were especially encouraged by the active participation of girls and vulnerable children, reinforcing our belief that every child deserves equal opportunities to learn, lead, and thrive.

Football continues to demonstrate its power as a tool for resilience, education, and community transformation.

🌍 Clean Energy, Clean Water: Transforming Lives in Baure Village

Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG's successfully deployed new Solar-Powered Charging Booth Station and Community Water Supply System in Baure village is impacting lives.

Through this integrated infrastructure, we are tackling two critical challenges at once: providing reliable, renewable energy to keep the community connected, and ensuring safe, clean drinking water for the village’s children and families.

📸 The Impact in Action
Empowering Daily Life: (Left) A look at our solar kiosks actively charging phones, keeping local businesses and families connected without relying on expensive, polluting fossil fuels.

Securing the Future: (Right) Children happily fetching clean water from the newly commissioned system—a direct investment in their health, education, and well-being.

🙏 Our Gratitude
This life-changing project was made possible through the generous funding and support of the ecolabel. Their commitment to sustainable development and renewable energy choice is driving real, measurable impact in rural communities.

🚀 Partner With Us
At the Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG, we believe that access to clean energy and water is the foundation for sustainable community development. We have the technical expertise, local trust, and a proven track record—but there are many more villages like Baure that need our collective support.

If your organization is looking to invest in verified, community-led climate action and rural empowerment in Nigeria, let’s connect.

Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG was honored to participate in the May ImpulSouth Community of Practice (CoP) Meeting, organized by A Ponte and Fundación Avina where Daniel Ayuk Mbi Egbe delivered an insightful presentation on the Renewable Energy Situation in Africa, thanks to Mariana Hoffmann for moderating the session.

The presentation highlighted the continent’s current energy landscape, particularly the unequal access to electricity between urban and rural communities across Africa. Discussions emphasized the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions, as millions of people in rural areas still lack reliable electricity access.

Key areas covered during the session included:

* Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) technology and flexible solar panels
* Solar cooking solutions and their environmental and health benefits
* Biomass, geothermal, hydro, and wind energy opportunities in Africa
* The impact of energy access on education, healthcare, and economic development
* Renewable energy potentials in countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Cameroon, Nigeria, and South Africa

The session also stressed the importance of clean and sustainable energy adoption in addressing climate change, reducing deforestation, improving food security, and promoting inclusive development across the continent.

At Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG, we remain committed to advancing renewable energy solutions, climate action, and sustainable development initiatives that improve livelihoods and strengthen energy access within communities. Thanks to Hauwa Salihu for presenting CREACCNG.

We appreciate the opportunity to engage, learn, and contribute to discussions shaping Africa’s renewable energy future.

From Dialogue to Action: Protecting Nigeria’s Green Canopy 🌳

Implementation requires coordination. On May 6th, Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG met with the Ecological Project Office (EPO) and the Embassy of Belgium in Nigeria to turn high-level dialogue into actionable policy.

Why this matters:
Environmental challenges like desertification and erosion are deeply linked to human activity. Our discussions focused on providing sustainable alternatives to charcoal and strengthening reforestation efforts across all 774 LGAs in Nigeria.

The Road Ahead:
We are working closely with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Nigerian Governors Forum to ensure our upcoming National Summit creates lasting impact at the federal and state levels.

Key Takeaways from the meeting:

-Policy Harmonization: Bridging the gap between conflicting policies to protect our rainforests in states like Cross River and Taraba.
-Strategic Collaboration: Planning for the upcoming National Summit on Charcoal and Forest Economy scheduld in July 2026.
Community-Led Solutions: -Emphasizing reforestation and alternative energy to reduce human impact on the environment.

We thank His Excellency, Mr. Pieter Leenknegt, Ambassador of Belgium in Nigeria, for his insights on biodiversity and his commitment to supporting Nigeria’s climate resilience.

Partnership is our greatest tool for ecological sustainability. Wants to partner for the National Summit on Charcoal and Forest Economy? Contact us at [email protected] or call +2348095328394

Empowerment is the Heart of Every Worker’s Day 🌍⚡

On this International Workers' Day, we at Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG celebrate the resilience of the Nigerian workforce—especially the women and entrepreneurs in rural communities like Baure, who work tirelessly to sustain their families.

For many of these workers, "productivity" is often limited by a lack of basic utilities. When we deploy solar-powered water kiosks and energy hubs, we aren't just installing equipment; we are:
✅ Saving hours of labor for women and children.
✅ Powering small businesses and local trades.
✅ Creating "Green Jobs" in the maintenance and management of renewable tech.

To our partners like EKOenergy ecolabel: Your funding has already turned "hard-to-reach" communities into hubs of activity.

To potential funders and collaborators: As we expand our reach to more isolated communities, we invite you to join us. Investing in Centre for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change CREACC-NG means investing directly in the productivity and dignity of the Nigerian worker.

Let’s build a future where clean energy powers every dream.
