The Medicaid Cancer Foundation, in collaboration with the Oncidium Foundation, was proud to host the Virtual Radiotheranostics Summit a platform that brought together leading experts, clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals to explore the latest advancements in radiotheranostics and precision oncology.

The summit highlighted the growing impact of Lutetium-177 (Lu-177) radioligand therapy in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, while showcasing real-world clinical experiences from Nigeria. Discussions also focused on expanding access to these innovative therapies through stronger collaborations, early referrals, investment in healthcare infrastructure, and continued medical education.

As precision medicine continues to transform cancer care, conversations like these are essential to driving innovation, strengthening healthcare systems, and ensuring that more patients across Africa have access to life changing treatments.

As we step into a new month, we renew our commitment to one mission: saving lives through early detection, education, and advocacy.

This August, we’ll continue taking cancer awareness beyond hospital walls by engaging communities with the knowledge they need to protect their health. From conversations about HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention to educating more people on the importance of regular cancer screening, we’re committed to ensuring that information reaches those who need it most.

Knowledge saves lives. Prevention saves lives. Early detection saves lives.

This month also marks the beginning of the countdown to . As we prepare for our biggest awareness movement yet this October, we’ll be sharing stories, resources, and opportunities for individuals, organizations, and communities to join us in raising awareness and standing together against cancer.

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of hosting the Inspired To LEAD Initiative team at the Medicaid Cancer Foundation. During the meeting with our CEO, they expressed interest in our work and extended an invitation for us to provide health support at the National Leaders & Youth Stakeholders Conference 2026.

Our team provided blood pressure and random blood sugar screening, PSA testing for eligible men, and medical consultations for participants requiring further assessment.

Educational pamphlets on cancer prevention and early detection were also distributed to promote informed health decisions and encourage routine screening.

The conference also provided an opportunity to engage participants on our upcoming campaign this October. Many attendees were already familiar with the initiative, while others expressed interest in participating and supporting the campaign.

We appreciate the Inspired to Lead Initiative for the collaboration and for recognising the importance of integrating health promotion into leadership and civic engagement. We look forward to more partnerships like this.

Did you know HPV doesn’t only cause cervical cancer? It can also cause throat cancer, especially in men.

Many HPV infections clear on their own, but some can remain in the body for years without symptoms. Over time, persistent infection can lead to cancers of the throat, mouth, and other parts of the body.

The good news is that HPV-related cancers are largely preventable. Vaccination before exposure to the virus offers strong protection and is recommended for both girls and boys.
