"The goal should never be purely profit or purely impact—it has to be both." 💭

That was just one of the many mind-opening takeaways from Build for Impact: The Conversation last Saturday.

In collaboration with , we gathered founders, innovators, and ecosystem leaders into the room to discuss what it takes to drive sustainable growth and how to navigate the business landscape.

Massive thanks to our speakers for sharing their wealth of knowledge:

🔹 Oyewole Joledo (Country Director, Social Good Fund Africa | Founder, Servelead Group of Companies)
🔹 Johnpaul Nwobodo (Investment Lead, PennPromise Capital)
🔹 Alexander Ehanire (Head of Strategy & Innovation, Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation - CREDICORP)
🔹 Sarah Solomon-Eseh (Managing Partner, Nolton Nolton Africa | Project Officer, International Trade Centre, UN)

The panel dove deep into understanding loans and creditworthiness, building personal trust as a gateway to capital, and mastering your business numbers.

We wrapped up with brave founders volunteering for 90-second pitches and receiving feedback from the panelists.

Swipe to see the energy in the room! 🥳 💙

Last weekend, our Recycle for Education 2.0 collection drive at Millennium Park brought the community together for an amazing day of environmental action and advocacy!

Shapers and volunteers went across the park, picking up littered bottles and sensitising the public on why recycling matters. We also extended our reach outside the park grounds. So many amazing donors and Community Champions showed up physically or sent packs of bottles they had been saving for weeks via delivery! 📦

We joined forces with Pad Up Africa during their Menstrual Hygiene Day event, and other local event organisers, who all generously donated their plastic waste. We also engaged with restaurants in the area to secure future recycling partnerships, while our partner EcoBarter was on-site to weigh and take the collected waste.

Together, we gathered about 3,000 bottles, weighing in at 75.93kg. But we still have a long way to go in meeting our 10,000kg goal, and continue to rely on your support.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, and volunteered. As Amaka said, "It was just really awesome!" 💙♻️

Last Saturday, we headed back to NTIC for our third and final session of The Confidence Lab!

Our two student teams faced off in a thrilling debate on the impact of AI. Huge congratulations to Team Musketeers for walking away with the win, as decided by our panel of judges. 🏆

The day also featured powerful spoken word performances, the presentation of certificates and gifts, and words of encouragement from both Shapers and judges.

To ensure this journey doesn't end here, the project co-lead, Saraya Yadume, announced that several participants will be paired with mentors from the Abuja Global Shapers for continued guidance and growth.

Thank you to NTIC, our incredible Shapers, and most importantly, the brilliant young women who showed up. 🚀💙
