PIND is a Nigerian non-profit organization building partnerships for peace and equitable economic development in the Niger Delta.

The Foundation for Partnerships Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is a Nigerian non-profit organization working to promote peace and equitable economic growth in Nigeria's Niger Delta region by forging multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder partnerships at the regional, national and international levels. PIND works closely with numerous partners to implement collaborative market-based, community

-owned programs to mitigate conflicts and boost economic opportunities for local businesses, ensuring that economic progress occurs in a systemic, inclusive, and sustainable manner. PIND’s projects span the nine states in the region: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Imo, Ondo and Rivers, with special focus on the underserved and hard to reach coastal communities of the region that are most forgotten in development programming. At PIND, we strongly believe that no single organization can solve the complex and interconnected development challenges in the Niger Delta. ⚡𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢-𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬.

On May 21, 2026, PIND’s energy developer partner, ETIN Power, signed three key agreements with Gbelebu Community in Edo State to advance a community mini-grid project under the ₦1.2 billion PIND–Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc partnership.

The agreements will support:
✅ Reliable electricity for homes and businesses
✅ Community participation and local ownership through a Community Power Committee
✅ Long-term sustainability with trained local operators and environmental safeguards

More importantly, the agreements secured the governance, land access, and operational framework needed to move the project from planning to implementation.

This is more than infrastructure. It is a model for how partnerships can strengthen livelihoods, resilience, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

🚤 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚

PIND, in partnership with the Nigerian Navy and NIWA, organized a two-day Boat Safety, Security & Risk Management Training in Warri for boat operators and jetty personnel from Delta, Bayelsa, and Ondo States.

The training provided practical sessions on:
✅ Marine safety protocols
✅ Emergency response
✅ Navigation risks
✅ Maritime security awareness
✅ Incident reporting and professional conduct

By strengthening operator competence and promoting safer marine transport practices, the initiative aims to reduce preventable incidents and improve safety across riverine communities in the Niger Delta.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲: 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐈𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐤𝐰𝐞’𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

For Mrs. Ola Igbokwe, fish processing was never part of the plan — until her son brought home something more valuable than a catch.

Her son, Chigozie, participated in PIND's aquaculture training under the Youth Employment Pathways (YEP) project—gaining the skills to start a small fish processing business.

When Chigoze later moved to Lagos for work, Mrs Igbokwe made a decision that would change everything. She stepped in, applied the knowledge from his training, and transformed a budding venture into a growing family enterprise.

Today, the business provides a steady income for her family and is expanding into fish farming, proof of what is possible when communities are equipped with the right knowledge and support.

PIND invites proposals from qualified training providers to deliver comprehensive First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training to consultants across its Abuja, Warri, and Port Harcourt offices.

Experienced organizations in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and emergency preparedness training are encouraged to review the Terms of Reference and submit their proposals.

Cassava is more than a crop in the Niger Delta—it is a source of income, enterprise, and opportunity.

Through the Women in Sourcing and Enterprise (WISE) programme, PIND joined partners IDH, with support from the Mastercard Foundation, on a learning exchange visit to the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).

The goal: scale practical solutions across the cassava value chain—from improved varieties and farmer training to SME support and productivity-enhancing technologies.

These insights will help:
🌱 Increase production
📈 Improve incomes
💼 Create dignified work opportunities

Especially for young women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.

On April 22, 2026, in Benin City, PIND brought together key players across the agricultural ecosystem to do exactly that—scale what works.

Through the “From Models to Markets” workshop, stakeholders connected across inputs, finance, advisory services, and markets to unlock partnerships and drive real adoption.

PIND’s Executive Director Sam Daibo recently hosted the Country Director of Plan International Charles Usie and his team for a pre-MoU engagement to align on a proposed partnership.

The conversation went beyond gender-responsive TVET centres—focusing on a more inclusive, systems-level approach that integrates Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) across PIND’s programs.

This is a step toward building a partnership that is strategic, inclusive, and impact-driven.

We look forward to formalizing this collaboration and advancing sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
