Africa’s future needs more than conversations. It needs spaces where we can rethink and imagine what better leadership and governance can look like.

Next week, the African School of Governance - ASG presents the Africa Mindset Reset Forum, happening on the 25–26 August in Kigali, Rwanda.

But the conversation doesn’t stop in Kigali.

We’re bringing the Forum to Abuja through a Satellite Hub Watch Party, where young leaders can join selected sessions virtually, engage with the conversations, discuss what they mean in our own context, and share perspectives back with the wider continental conversation.

Throwback to Monday, when young people gathered in Abuja for the Green Action Challenge Convening, creating space for conversations on climate justice, youth accountability, and the environmental challenges affecting communities across the FCT.

The convening brought together participants to identify community challenges, develop practical solutions, map out actions, and shape policy recommendations.

Across six teams, young people worked collaboratively to turn shared concerns into ideas that can drive meaningful change within their communities.

The goal was clear: to move from conversations to action and strengthen youth-led efforts towards a greener, more accountable future.

And that’s a wrap on Men Summit 2026! 🎉

What a day of conversations, challenges, uncomfortable truths and important reflections.

From examining the role of faith and tradition in gender justice to confronting the social norms that fuel child marriage, we did more than talk about change.

We challenged ourselves to ask: What will I do differently?

Because gender justice is not a one-day conversation. It shows up in our homes, workplaces, communities, relationships and everyday choices.

The Summit may be over, but the work continues.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, listened, challenged ideas and committed to being part of the change.

The final panel session at Men Summit 2026 brought the conversation to one of the most pressing issues facing girls and communities across Nigeria: ending child marriage through collective action and systemic change.

Centred on “Addressing Social Norms, Education, Policy and Collective Action in Ending Child Marriage,” the session explored the interconnected factors that continue to enable child marriage and the urgent need for coordinated action to address them.

The discussion was moderated by Gbemisola Joel-Osoba, who led an engaging conversation with Fatima Bello Aminu, Abbas Adamu; and Dr. Yemisi Nathaniel.

The panellists examined how deeply rooted social norms, gaps in education, weak implementation of policies and limited community action can perpetuate child marriage. They also highlighted the power of education, stronger policy frameworks and collective responsibility in creating lasting change.

The conversation underscored that ending child marriage cannot be the responsibility of one group alone. It requires families, communities, policymakers, educators, civil society and, importantly, men and boys to challenge harmful norms and champion a future where every girl has the freedom to learn, thrive and determine her own future.

As Men Summit 2026 draws its conversations together, the message remains clear: lasting gender justice demands more than awareness.
