GPF Nigeria partnered with the Kaninkon Traditional Council to commemorate the 2026 Dung Nikyob Day and the Dunkous Festival Restoration Initiative. The event which held on April 3, 2026 marked a significant cultural milestone for the Kaninkon community and the wider Southern Kaduna region of Kaduna state.
The gathering served as a platform for both cultural celebration and strategic push to revive ancient traditions that have been dormant for over decade. The 2-Day long festival was attended by Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the Country Director, GPF Nigeria, prominent sons and daughters of the chiefdom, other government officials, as well as friends and well-wishers of the chiefsom from far and wide.

In a bid to address the rising issues of crime and criminality in Ungwan Gwari Community of Kawo, Kaduna North LGA of Kaduna State, GPF Nigeria held a 2-Day Program to curb the menace of drugs and substance abuse which has been identified as a major driver.

The highly impactful convergence tagged "Breaking the Chains" took place on February 23rd & 24th at the Ungwan Gwari Community. The program which featured Youth-led Dialogue and Faith-based engagement on the Dangers of Substance Abuse was attended by Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the Country Director, GPF Nigeria Nigeria, officials of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Security Agencies, Religious and Community Leaders, as well as men, women and youth within the community.
