Our Keynote speaker, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Policy Innovation Center Dr Osasuyi Idirisu illustrated that Inclusion is not an icing on the cake, rather it is an integral component of our community, and is a fundamental human right.

She emphasized that ensuring everyone has a voice at the table is core in making inclusion effective.

She also highlighted that to strengthen the efficiency of disability, inclusive policies advocacy has to start from

Day 2 of the Deaf-in-Tech convening event.

We discussed on the challenges and opportunities in promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the workforce.

It was highlighted that even when advocating for disability inclusion in the workplace, advocacy for accessibility and reasonable accommodations should be in the core component of our request.

In addition to the advocacy components, individual and personalized efforts such as Curating of requisite skills, networking, participating in job/career fairs and conferences are key steps in gaining employment.
