One day, the world will see the buildings.
But today, only a few people see the burden behind the vision.
Every morning at Betharbel Free Elementary School for IDPs, children arrive carrying more than just school bags.
Some carry memories of displacement.
Some carry hunger.
Some carry questions no child should ever have to ask.
Yet they still sit in class…
still raise their hands…
still dare to believe that their future can be different.
And every time I look at them, I know something deeply:
This cannot be the end of their story.

What we run today is a free school for displaced children.
But what burns in my heart is something far bigger.

A place where vulnerable children will not just learn for a few hours and return to uncertainty…
but a place where they can live, grow, feel safe, and rediscover childhood again.
That vision is Betharbel Free Inclusive Academy & Boarding School.
A sanctuary of learning.
A refuge of dignity.
A home for children the world almost forgot.
Because the truth is this:
Talent is everywhere.
Potential is everywhere.
But opportunity is not.

And when a child is born into displacement, poverty, or crisis, the world often writes their story before they even get a chance to dream.
But I refuse to accept that.
I hold onto the promise written in Book of Habakkuk 2:3:
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come.”
There are days this vision feels heavy.
Days when the resources are not enough.
Days when the need is bigger than what we currently have.
But the vision refuses to die.
Because somewhere in those crowded classrooms is a child who will one day:
• lead communities
• heal nations
• solve problems the world is still struggling with
If only someone gives them the chance.

And I believe the promise of Book of Isaiah 60:3 with everything in me:
“Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
One day, nations will see what is being built here.
One day, leaders will support this assignment.
One day, the light from this vision will reach far beyond a small IDP community.
Because this is not just about building a school.
This is about restoring destiny.
This is about rewriting the future of children the world overlooked.
This is about proving that where a child begins should never decide where they end.

The vision may take time.
But one thing I know for certain:
It will speak.
And when it does, the world will know that hope was quietly being built here all along. ✨

10 Days. Lives Waiting. And We Will Not Back Down.
Three pupils have been home for over a year.
Now they have the opportunity to return to secondary school but they need full registration support.
In less than 10 days, we urgently need:
Tuition for 12 pupils in GSS
Registration for 3 secondary school pupils
3 JAMB fees
Condiments for this week’s school meals
Teachers’ salaries
And as if that isn’t enough…
90% of our school furniture is gone.
Our children are now sitting on bare floors.
Yes, the needs are heavy.
Yes, the timeline is short.

But do we stop?
Do we retreat?
Capital NO.
We move.
We build.
We trust.
From my mouth to God’s ears He will provide.

If you feel led to stand with these children:
Bank: FCMB
Account Name: Betharbel Foundation
Account Number: 7816464016
Every seed keeps a child in school.
Every gift restores dignity.
Every act of generosity rewrites a future.
We are not discouraged. We are determined. 🙏

They didn’t run like displaced children today.
They ran like kids who still believe in joy. ⚽💛
At Betharbel Foundation Free Elementary School for IDPs, sports time is more than play it’s healing.
Because when everything has been taken from a child, joy becomes resistance.
This is why we show up.
To protect childhood.
To restore hope.

Education is most powerful when it is co-created especially in times of crisis.
As the global community marks the International Day of Education under the theme “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education,” we are reminded that education is not only a right it is a shared responsibility.

At Betharbel Foundation, Nigeria, we work at the intersection of education, protection, and recovery, ensuring that children affected by displacement and trauma continue to learn in safe, dignified, and supportive environments. Through our free school for internally displaced children, we deliver education in emergencies that restores hope, stability, and opportunity.

Our approach aligns with the commitments of UNESCO, UNICEF, and global education partners, recognizing education as a life-saving intervention and a cornerstone for sustainable development. We actively engage young people, caregivers, and communities in shaping learning that responds to their realities and aspirations.

On this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment and extend an open invitation to partners, donors, institutions, and innovators who share a vision of inclusive, resilient education systems. Together, we can strengthen learning outcomes, protect vulnerable children, and co-create pathways to a more equitable future.
From Nigeria to the world, let us invest in education that leaves no child behind.

2025 in one page. A year of dignity restored, lives nourished, and futures rebuilt.
From classrooms rising out of displacement, to 104,400 meals that kept little bodies strong and minds ready to learn this is what impact looks like when compassion meets commitment.

In 2025, Betharbel Foundation supported 400 children in our free elementary school, helped 26 pupils transition to secondary school, served 104,400 school meals, and convened the inaugural Reclaim Her Global Summit, empowering 300 women to heal, lead, and rise.
Behind every number is a child who returned to school, a girl who believed again, and a woman who reclaimed her voice.

This is more than a report.
It is proof that when we show up consistently, hope becomes measurable.
Thank you to every donor, partner, and believer who made this possible.
We’re just getting started.

Today, we say thank you for something that may look simple, but means so much.
Thank you for the school meal of yam and sauce a meal that nourished bodies, lifted spirits, and reminded our children that they are seen and cared for.
For many of our learners, this meal was more than food; it was encouragement, strength to learn, and a reminder that kindness still exists. Every bite carried love, dignity, and hope.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made today’s meal possible. May every seed you sow in love return to you in abundance.

Thank You for Filling Plates and Hearts ❤️
Because of you, over 400 children at our free elementary school didn’t just eat they were nourished, strengthened, and reminded that they are seen.
Today, our children enjoyed jollof rice and vegetables a simple meal, but one filled with dignity, joy, and care. For many of them, this was the most complete meal of the day. You made that possible.
You didn’t just provide food.
You gave energy to learn.
You gave strength to grow.
You gave comfort to children who carry more than their age should allow.
Every spoonful carried your kindness. Every full plate spoke hope.
From all of us at Betharbel Foundation, and from the over 400 grateful hearts and full tummies, thank you for standing with us and feeding the future.

🎒✨ BACK TO SCHOOL 2026 — HELP US SEND 400 IDP CHILDREN BACK WITH DIGNITY ✨🎒
As the new year begins, our children at Betharbel Foundation Free Elementary School for IDPs are getting ready to return to school.
But many of them are returning without basic learning materials, uniforms, shoes, or school bags.
For some families, even a pencil is a luxury.
This is where your love makes all the difference. ❤️
In 2025, your support helped us serve 104,400 meals, run our Tech Bootcamp, and transition 26 children to secondary school.
Now, as we prepare for a new term, we’re calling on you again.
Your Back-to-School support will provide:
📚 Books & writing materials
🎒 School bags & uniforms
👟 Footwear
🍲 Meals to keep them learning
💡 Access to STEM & digital learning
❤️ A safe, hopeful learning environment
Every ₦1 you give sends a child back to school with dignity.
No amount is too small to change a story.
