As part of the ongoing efforts to support the implementation of the Nigeria State-level ART Impact Survey (AIS) in Lagos State, a five-day training was held from September 1st to 5th, 2025, to train satellite laboratorians on the use of the Laboratory Data Management System (LDMS) platform.
The training brought together representatives from the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), (National AIDS and STIs Control Programme (NASCP), National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC), Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH)), CDC, and PHIA Fellows.
LDMS will serve as the primary data management platform, used across the satellite and central laboratories to support the survey’s laboratory data component. The platform will be used to report specimen information, plasma and DBS (Dried Blood Spot) storage locations, quality assurance, and confirmatory test results, as well as sample shipments. Data generated through LDMS will enable effective monitoring and tracking of all laboratory activities during the survey period.
This training marks another important step in preparing for the successful implementation of the ART Impact Survey in Lagos, ensuring accurate, high-quality laboratory data to inform decisions and strengthen Nigeria’s HIV response.
