This past Saturday, the SHIELD Girls2Women Initiative hosted an empowering session on “Navigating the Digital Space: Building Influence and Resilience as Women” with the brilliant Peace Happiness Ozegbe.

Building the Future, One Algorithm at a Time: ICT FOR ALL 2.0!

Building on the success of our maiden edition, the SHIELD Girls2Women Initiative in collaboration with Odyssey Educational Foundation returned with ICT FOR ALL 2.0, transforming American Spaces Nigeria into a hub of innovation and discovery.

Using MIT’s Scratch and Teachable Machine, 25 young innovators built machine learning models to track real-world environmental data, learning the same core principles behind global space missions like Artemis II. Even spotty Wi-Fi couldn’t stand in the way of their curiosity, resilience, and determination.

The future is being shaped by bold, brilliant young minds—and they’re just getting started.

On World Sickle Cell Day 2026, we stand with every warrior and every family navigating the daily reality of Sickle Cell Disease.

Closing the Survival Gap: Equity in Sickle Cell Disease is not just a theme, it is a call to action. A call to ensure that access to care, early diagnosis, affordable treatment, and sustained support are not privileges, but rights for every life touched by SCD.

It is also a reminder that prevention begins with awareness. Knowing your genotype is a crucial first step in making informed choices, protecting future generations, and reducing the burden of Sickle Cell Disease in our communities.

At SHIELD Girls2Women Initiative, we continue to raise our voices for awareness, equity, and a future where no one is left behind because of their genotype.

Because survival should not depend on circumstance. It should be guaranteed by care.
