Another 200 Students reached!!

On Monday, 20th October, 2025, Our Champions of the Youth-led Innovative Approach for Combating School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV), visited Markas Islamia College, Keffi for another round of advocacy and sensitization.

The Champions Yahaya Sulaiman, Hassan Mairiga, Aisha Ishaq, Nana Khadijah Abubakar, engaged with over 200 students from the Primary, Junior, and Senior Secondary sections of the school.

We had deep and interactive discussions on:
βœ… The meaning and types of School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV)
βœ… Causes and effects of SRGBV on students and schools
βœ… How to report, prevent, and stand against all forms of violence
βœ… Supporting Survivors and creating safer learning environments

The students were very active, curious, and passionate, their contributions and questions showed real understanding and commitment to ending SRGBV in their schools.

The school authority further committed to starting the SRGBV club in order to create safe spaces for students to discuss their safety.

We were also honored to have Comr. Nasir Yusuf, the National President of Keffi Students Association (KESA), with his entourage. His words of encouragement added so much inspiration to the session. πŸ™Œ

Each visit reminds us that change truly begins with awareness. Seeing young minds learning about respect, empathy, and safety gives us so much hope for a violence-free school system. πŸ’ͺ

Special thanks to the EU International Partnerships and the Global Youth Mobilization for providing us with the funding to create this lasting impact.

Let’s keep pushing until every child learns in a safe, respectful, and empowering environment. ❀️

As part of the ongoing effort to end School Related Gender Based Violence, our champions Uthman Bukhari and Yahaya Suleiman under the Sustainable Initiative for Protecting and Empowering the African Child Project β€œYouth-led Innovative Approach for Combating School Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV)”, carried out an impactful advocacy visit to Liyu College of Health, Keffi on 15 October, 2025.

During the session, they engaged 85 students in an enlightening conversation on School Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) exploring its meaning, types, causes, effects, and practical strategies for managing, reporting, and supporting victims of SRGBV.

The engagement was highly interactive, with students expressing deep appreciation for the knowledge gained and committing to foster safer learning environments within their school.

A key outcome of the visit was the school’s commitment to establish a club where ongoing conversations, awareness, and activities around SRGBV and other forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) will be held to sustain the impact of the advocacy.

The session had in attendance Hon. Dauda Yusuf, Personal Assistant to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Human Capital Development, and Comr. Nasir Yusuf, National President of the Keffi Students Association (KESA), who both lent their support to the advocacy visit.

Special appreciation also goes to Mrs. Maryam El-Abari (The Golden Voice) and Ramlat Al-Ameen, whose heartfelt poem on School Related Gender-Based Violence inspired and moved everyone present.

A big shout-out to the EU International Partnerships and Global Youth Mobilization for providing us the funding

It was truly a productive and impactful day another powerful step towards building schools free from gender-based violence. πŸ’ͺπŸŽ“

🌱 Empowering Africa's Future Through Climate Action!🌍

At Sustainable Initiative for Protecting and Empowering the African Child (SIPEAC), we believe that protecting our planet starts with empowering our youth. That's why we're taking bold steps in climate action by partnering with local schools to plant trees and foster a greener future! 🌳

Tree planting is more than just an actβ€”it's a legacy. Trees combat climate change by absorbing CO2, provide shade, improve air quality, and support biodiversity, ensuring a healthier environment for our children to thrive. By engaging students in tree-planting initiatives, we're nurturing environmental stewards who will champion sustainability for generations to come.

Our partnerships with local schools are creating hands-on opportunities for kids to learn about climate change, take action, and grow a sense of responsibility for their planet. Together, we're planting seeds of hope and resilience across African communities.

Join us in this movement! Let's plant trees, empower children, and build a sustainable Africa. πŸ’š
