Feed the Sick Global Outreach, You and I
Feed the Sick Global Outreach (FSGO) as a registered NGO has come the distance – struggled, straggled and throve in fitting in in its space.
The phrase feed the sick means attending or taking care of the needs of those in need of help in one way or another – and not necessarily only for the sick. The bible is replete with many instances of how variety of handicapped people were cared for and FSGO's structures and vision are etched from the holy books.
Have you heard or read about the dude attacked and wounded by robbers in the book of Luke 10:30-35? In the passage of time, different people came across the guy but could not help. When hope was fading – at the point of giving up – the right person, a Samaritan (an outsider) came who took him in and fed [cared] him.
In similar way, not all NGOs are structured to do the same thing, and this is where FSGO has fundamental root to help the ailing, the broken, the downtrodden, etc.
Jesus Christ, our chief patron was moved with compassion towards the plight of mankind and left his cosy world behind. He performed so many miracles in order to ameliorate man’s sufferings. One such instance was where he fed five thousand people, able men:
“Matthew 14:14-21[AKJV]
[ 14] And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick
[ 15] And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals
[ 16] But Jesus said to them, They need not depart; give you them to eat
[ 17] And they say to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes
[ 18] He said, Bring them here to me
[ 19] And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude
[ 20] And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full
[ 21] And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children
Jesus the Messiah knowing his power and source deployed it to do good – Acts 1038.
The prophets of old were also faced with dire situations that had to compel them to render care based on love, empathy and social/spiritual responsibilities. Elijah and the widow in 1Kings 1710-24.
To cap it all up, God the Creator had to carter for Adam and Eve when they messed up His estate at Eden. Genesis 321:
“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
The pillars supporting Feed the Sick Global Outreach stem from our Creator and lead man Jesus Christ of Nazareth. FSGO cannot work in a vacuum: it needs you and I. All hands should be on deck because this is our calling/command of the Master – Matthew 2819-20, Mark 1620.
FSGO needs your support in many ways – not only in monetary forms.
What can you do for God? Or better still, what can you lend out to God to feed the sick among us?
God bless you.
