Across nations, 8 and 9 May are remembered in different ways—victory, liberation, or loss. Yet beyond these differences lies a shared responsibility: to ensure that the devastation of war is never repeated.

The United Nations’ call for remembrance and reconciliation reminds us that the consequences of conflict extend far beyond history books—they are carried within families, across generations.

This is why remembrance must be connected to renewal. Families are where values are formed, where dignity is learned, and where reconciliation can begin.

As part of the Month of Family, this moment invites us to transform memory into responsibility, and responsibility into lasting peace.

Ubuntu, which means “I am because we are” offers a deeply human blueprint for interfaith cooperation.

It reframes diversity as strength, urging faith leaders to move from tolerance to genuine solidarity. Through humble, empathetic dialogue, they can tackle shared challenges like poverty and injustice.
Ultimately, Ubuntu calls us to embody unity in action, co-creating a future where diverse communities work together for the common good.

Join a special webinar on this theme, hosted by the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) with the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).

The measure of leadership is not symbolic representation, but moral adequacy for the moment.

As the United Nations moves toward selecting its next Secretary-General, the deeper need is clear: a leader of inner freedom, moral seriousness, and independence—capable of rising above polarization while speaking to the conscience of humanity.

In a fractured age, credibility will not come from louder words, but from deeper character.

Youth are not waiting for the future—they are building it now.

As the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026 begins, the focus is clear: empowering young people to shape sustainable, inclusive communities.

Through service, participation, and shared responsibility, real change starts at the local level.

This April, the Month of Service reminds us that stronger communities begin with action.

Hak Ja Han, co-founder of Universal Peace Federation, has been officially nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize by Ján Figeľ.

This nomination highlights decades of work dedicated to peacebuilding, interfaith dialogue, and global cooperation. From mobilizing thousands of Peace Ambassadors worldwide to championing reconciliation efforts on the Korean Peninsula, her impact continues to reach across borders and beliefs.

Her initiatives include the “Rally of Hope” summits for peaceful reunification, the establishment of the Sunhak Peace Prize, and collaborations with the United Nations through ECOSOC. She has also advanced bold ideas like a peace park along the Korean DMZ and promoted cultural diplomacy through global programs.

As noted by Dr. FigeÄľ, her lifelong commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and human dignity has consistently brought people together across divides.

A reminder that lasting peace is built through unity, vision, and action.
