Jimoh Kaosara, a widow supported by the ABS Foundation, receives a deep freezer and a cash grant to support her small business.

Our Founder, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki , hosted Israel Adeniyi Adekunle for dinner following his excellent feat as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Nigerian Law School at the Just concluded 2026 Call to Bar Ceremony .

Prior to this great feat, he emerged as the Best Graduating Student from the Faculty of Law , University of Ilorin.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence, the ABS Foundation presented him with a ₦2,000,000 award.

At the ABS Foundation, we believe that excellence must be seen, celebrated, and rewarded. When young Nigerians rise to the top through hard work and integrity, they set the standard for a generation.

Congratulations, Israel.

Last week, Adisa Blessing Oluwafikayo shared a story that resonated with many Nigerians.

After graduating with a First Class degree in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin, she secured a fully funded Master’s scholarship at the University of Calabria in Italy. Yet, despite her remarkable achievement, the cost of relocating threatened to stand between her and the opportunity she had worked so hard to earn.

When our Founder, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, learned of her situation, he believed that no young Nigerian should lose such an opportunity for want of financial support.

Today, the ABS Foundation is honoured to provide €3,100 to cover her relocation expenses, ensuring that her journey can begin. Blessing was joined by her parents and siblings, who shared in this special moment.

We believe that when excellence is recognised and supported, its impact extends far beyond one individual. Nigeria’s future will always depend on investing in young people whose hard work and discipline have already distinguished them.

We congratulate Blessing on this important milestone and wish her every success as she embarks on this next chapter. We have every confidence that she will excel and that the knowledge, experience and perspective she gains will one day contribute to the continued progress of our country.

A ballot paper is a small thing. It weighs nothing, costs nothing, and takes a few seconds to fold. Yet it is the one place where every Nigerian carries equal weight.

That is what protects: the idea that every Nigerian counts for one, and nobody counts for more.

Twenty-seven years of civilian rule have not been perfect. Democracy rarely is. But the answer to its flaws has never been less participation. It has always been more.

Nearly half the country is under the age of eighteen, and roughly a third of school-age children aren’t in a classroom. The whole point of Children’s Day is to keep that reality in the room, not let it disappear beneath the celebrations.

That is also why we try, in our own way, to do more than simply mark the day. Over the years, the has supported thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children across the country with school fees, books, and other essentials to help them stay in school and start the term properly.

Even then, it is only a small contribution when you think about how many children still need that kind of support. Small in the grand scheme, yes. But not insignificant. And certainly not the end of the work.

And so, as we celebrate today, spare a thought for the children who will not be part of the festivities. The ones hawking in traffic. The ones at home caring for younger siblings. The ones in IDP camps. The ones nobody is planning anything for.

They deserve this day just as much as anyone else. They are the reason we keep doing the work.
