Minister of Labour Honoured by Youth for Women Empowerment and Education Initiative in Nigeria

The Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, was honoured on Tuesday at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja by the Youth for Women Empowerment and Education Initiative in Nigeria for his exemplary leadership in promoting inclusivity, education, and gender equality within the workforce.

The event brought together an impressive assembly of stakeholders, including senior government officials, and youth leaders from the Youth for Women empowerment and Education initiative in Nigeria

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Initiative set the tone for the occasion by declaring, “When you train a woman, you train a nation.” He praised the Minister for his outstanding work and commended the Labour Ministry’s role in maintaining industrial harmony, noting that since Dr. Dingyadi assumed office, the country has enjoyed relative peace in the labour sector with no major strikes.

Dr. Dingyadi, in his keynote response, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a just and inclusive workforce. “We are not performing magic,” he stated. “We are simply ensuring that justice and inclusivity prevail. We aim to bring stability by listening to every sector of the workforce.”

The Minister further highlighted the importance of prioritizing the education of the girl child, stressing that every young girl deserves the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and equitable society.

To honour his contributions, the organization presented Dr. Dingyadi with an Award, recognizing his dedication to uplifting women and strengthening labour relations in Nigeria.

In his closing remarks, the Minister expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and pledged continued support to the organization’s mission. “I thank you sincerely for this honour. We will support the organization any way we can, in other to to create a better future for women and youth in our country,” he said.

The event concluded with networking and renewed commitments to collaboration between civil society and the government in advancing national development through women’s empowerment and education.
