STRIVACAS Phase 3 – Day 2 Experience

Phase 2 (Health & Humanitarian Intervention) was truly impactful. We limited our posts because of the tragic attack in Ngoshe, a town in southern Borno. Armed militants overwhelmed the military base and also att@cked the nearby Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, kill!ng soldiers and civilians, burning parts of the community, and women and children, forc!ng many people to flee their homes.

Phase 3 (Empowerment & Education) is very promising. Yesterday we focused on drug abuse awareness, dangers of illicit substances, the value of quality education, time management, and incentivised students with quizzes — motivating them to do more.

This phase ends in six days. Join us to help build a better Nigeria. Parents and guardians should also diplomatically guide and monitor children in primary and secondary schools — much is happening that many don’t see. Train your children for the good of your family and society.

We respectfully call on you to take urgent and decisive action in support of grassroots, life-saving initiatives that are directly confronting poverty, hunger, and chronic disease at the community level across Nigeria.

In 2022, we formally reached out to the Food and Agriculture Organization () seeking partnership and financial support for our Ultra-Modern Cassava Processing Factory—an intervention designed to strengthen food security, empower smallholder farmers, and stimulate rural economic resilience. To date, we have received no response, and the project remains incomplete due to the substantial capital required. Yet, even with limited resources, our initiative—the Movement for the Actualization of Zero Hunger and Chronic Disease Prevention/Management (MAZHCDP)—has already impacted numerous lives, particularly among vulnerable farming communities who remain the backbone of food production.

Our Convener, Omale Jeff Ejuojo, demonstrated unwavering commitment to this cause through a historic 33-day endurance trek from Northern to Southern Nigeria (February 19 – March 22, 2024), amplifying national awareness on hunger, poverty, and preventable chronic diseases. This landmark effort culminated in the launch of STRIVACAS (Strive Towards Resilience, Impact, Vitality, Advocacy, Care, and Sustainability), an annual national initiative held from February 19 to March 22.

With the maiden 2026 programme, STRIVACAS is strategically designed—based on our National Concept Note—to reach over 10,000 direct beneficiaries and more than 1,000,000 indirect beneficiaries through integrated interventions in food security, health promotion, agricultural value-chain development, and poverty alleviation.

However, meaningful transformation cannot be achieved through policy declarations and written commitments alone. Real change demands genuine partnership, actionable funding, and deliberate support for credible grassroots movements that are already delivering measurable impact despite severe financial constraints. Humanity must come before politics; our collective responsibility is to ensure that no community is left behind due to lack of institutional attention.

Poverty is man-made—and therefore it can be eradicated through intentional human action. We urge the United Nations system to actively support STRIVACAS and similar grassroots initiatives working tirelessly at the frontlines. By investing in community-driven agricultural processing, farmer empowerment, and integrated health and nutrition programmes, we can jointly accelerate progress toward Zero Hunger, improved health outcomes, and sustainable livelihoods.

We stand ready to collaborate transparently and accountably to scale these interventions nationwide. With genuine global partnership, the vision of eradicating poverty and hunger can move from aspiration to reality.

National Importance of the STRIVACAS Programme (Initiated by UACAS)

The STRIVACAS Programme—an annual national intervention of the Unified Association of Campaign Against Su***de (UACAS)—represents a transformative movement advancing public health, mental wellbeing, zero hunger, and poverty alleviation across Nigeria. Officially inaugurated in 2026, the programme runs annually from February 19 to March 22, positioning it as a strategic, calendar-driven national campaign for preventive health, humanitarian service, and socio-economic upliftment.

Origin: A Sacrificial Endurance Trek that Sparked a National Movement

STRIVACAS was birthed from the historic 33-day endurance trek undertaken by Omale Jeff Ejuojo, whose journey symbolized sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering commitment to saving lives and promoting healthy living.
This symbolic act of endurance laid the moral and visionary foundation for STRIVACAS—transforming personal sacrifice into a structured national programme that mobilizes communities, institutions, and policymakers toward collective action for wellbeing and social development.

Core National Importance of STRIVACAS

1. Advancing Zero Hunger Through Humanitarian Interventions

STRIVACAS integrates food outreach, nutritional education, and support to vulnerable populations, directly addressing hunger at the grassroots. By mobilizing donations, partnerships, and community participation, the programme contributes to reducing malnutrition and ensuring that disadvantaged citizens receive both nourishment and dignity.

2. Promoting Poverty Alleviation and Economic Empowerment

Through health awareness, capacity-building outreaches, and humanitarian support, STRIVACAS tackles poverty from a multidimensional perspective. By improving physical and mental wellbeing, it enhances productivity, employability, and economic resilience—key drivers for lifting individuals and families out of poverty.

3. Strengthening Preventive Healthcare and Healthy Living

The programme emphasizes early detection of chronic diseases, lifestyle modification, and preventive healthcare education. This reduces the national disease burden, lowers healthcare expenditure, and supports Nigeria’s long-term health sustainability goals.

4. Addressing Mental Health and Su***de Prevention Nationally

As a flagship initiative of UACAS, STRIVACAS provides a powerful platform for mental health advocacy, psychosocial awareness, and su***de prevention education. It fosters open conversations, reduces stigma, and encourages community-based support systems for mental resilience.

5. Bridging Health, Humanitarian Service, and Social Protection

STRIVACAS uniquely integrates medical outreach, counseling, feeding programmes, and community empowerment—creating a holistic response to interconnected national challenges of health inequality, hunger, and socio-economic vulnerability.

6. Mobilizing Youths as Agents of National Transformation

The annual February–March campaign period galvanizes youths across Nigeria to participate in advocacy walks, sensitization drives, and humanitarian services. This cultivates civic responsibility and builds a generation committed to nation-building through compassion and service.

7. Institutionalizing a Sustainable National Awareness Calendar

By running from February 19 to March 22 every year, STRIVACAS establishes a consistent national cycle of awareness, intervention, and impact assessment. This structured timeline ensures continuity, measurable outcomes, and expanding nationwide reach year after year.

Conclusion

The STRIVACAS Programme stands as a nationally significant initiative born from sacrifice and sustained through organized humanitarian action. Emerging from the 33-day endurance trek of Omale Jeff Ejuojo and institutionalized by UACAS in 2026, it unifies the goals of zero hunger, poverty alleviation, preventive healthcare, and mental health advocacy into one powerful annual movement.

Ultimately, STRIVACAS is more than a programme—it is a national call to action, fostering a healthier, hunger-free, and economically empowered society while nurturing a culture of compassion, resilience, and healthy living across Nigeria.
