EmpowerHer 2025: Education Support and Mission

One of our milestones this year was offering educational scholarships and cash support to both secondary and university students in our community, helping them access school fees and essential learning resources. We believe that an educated girl is an empowered girl, and that girls belong in schools, not on the sidelines. Every support we provide is a step toward ensuring that girls can learn, grow, and thrive safely.

This initiative is part of our mission to improve educational outcomes, reduce teen pregnancy, and protect girls from sexual exploitation. EmpowerHer is committed to creating opportunities where girls can access education, build confidence, and secure a better future.

As we move into 2026, our goal is to expand this support to even more girls, proving that investing in her education is investing in the future

EmpowerHer 2025. Year in Review

In June 2024, EmpowerHer was launched with a simple goal. To create a safe, growth focused space for girls. By December, it had grown into a strong community of 100 committed girls, meeting consistently and growing together.

Over the course of the year, we hosted monthly hangouts, held weekly Wednesday talks, and carried out school outreach sessions, creating spaces for learning, connection, and honest conversations.

Our work centered on clearly defined pillars. Emotional healing, self esteem, relationships, self care, financial growth, sexual health, and reproductive health. These were not isolated topics, but a structured framework designed to help girls grow emotionally, socially, and practically.

Beyond attendance, leadership emerged. Girls stepped into roles, supported programs, contributed ideas, and took responsibility for the community. EmpowerHer became more than events. It became a system for growth, accountability, and belonging.

This year laid the foundation. The impact is visible, the structure is clear, and the vision is strong.

We move forward with purpose.

Earlier last year, June 2024 to be precise, I launched an initiative called EmpowerHer.

What began as a focused effort to create safe and supportive spaces for girls has grown into a structured community built around emotional strength, self trust, and practical life skills.

By December 2025, EmpowerHer has become a strong community of young girls committed to self growth and, by extension, community development.

Through age appropriate programs, mentorship, and guided conversations, EmpowerHer addresses critical areas that affect girls’ wellbeing and decision making. The initiative operates with a clear framework that supports emotional development, healthy boundaries, financial awareness, and body education.

As we look ahead, EmpowerHer remains committed to expanding its reach and deepening its impact, ensuring that more girls have access to the support, knowledge, and safe spaces they need to thrive

Today, we celebrate Emade Solomon, an undergraduate, an exceptional volunteer and the Coordinator of the EmpowerHer community.

Emade has been one of the most consistent and committed members of EmpowerHer. From coordinating activities to managing our social media pages, she has shown dedication, reliability, and a genuine passion for the growth of this community.

Her willingness to take responsibility, show up when needed, and serve with excellence has played a critical role in strengthening EmpowerHer and keeping our vision alive. Leadership is not about titles, it is about impact, and Emade embodies this fully.

Thank you, Emade Solomon, for your hard work, loyalty, and commitment to empowering girls. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful.

EmpowerHer Karaoke Evening Highlights

Our EmpowerHer Karaoke Evening brought the girls together for an engaging outdoor hangout focused on connection, expression, and community. The turnout exceeded expectations, showing the growing reach and relevance of the EmpowerHer initiative.

The evening opened with introductions, giving the girls the opportunity to get to know one another and build new connections. This was followed by a lively karaoke session where music, laughter, and shared energy filled the space, allowing the girls to express themselves freely and confidently.

Beyond the fun, the hangout created room for meaningful interaction. The girls networked, exchanged contacts, and formed new friendships. Two of the girls also shared words of wisdom drawn from their personal life experiences, offering encouragement and insight to others. A short talk was delivered to guide the girls on confidence, choices, and using their voices positively.

The session ended on a high note, with the girls leaving more connected, encouraged, and inspired. Events like this reflect EmpowerHer’s commitment to building supportive spaces where girls can learn from one another, grow in confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Our Karaoke Evening Hangout turned out bigger than we imagined. More girls showed up than we planned for, but the beauty of it was this — they came with open hearts, hungry for connection, sisterhood and a safe space to breathe.

We started with simple introductions and a warm chat to help everyone settle in. Then the music took over. The girls sang their hearts out, laughed, danced and cheered for one another. For many of them, this was the first time they felt free enough to express themselves without fear of judgement.

They got to know each other through the introduction session, connecting beyond faces and forming easy bonds that set the tone for the night. The highlight was when each girl named three things she loves about herself, a moment that reminded us how powerful it is to guide young girls toward confidence.

We closed with a gratitude circle and that warm feeling that only genuine connection can create. Nights like this show us that EmpowerHer is more than a program. It is a community where girls feel seen, valued and supported
