Child Shield Initiative participated in a Capacity and Leadership Strengthening Programme for leaders of the National Coalition of Civil Society to End Child Marriage in Nigeria, with support from

The programme strengthened leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking and collective action towards ending child marriage in Nigeria.

For us, ending child marriage requires more than awareness. It requires strong leadership, coordinated action, sustained advocacy and collective commitment to girls’ rights.

We are proud to be part of a movement working to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to grow, learn, thrive and choose her future.

Together, we strengthen the movement. Together, we end child marriage.

Strengthening Community Action to End Child Marriage

Child Shield Initiative engaged community stakeholders in a meaningful conversation on the effects of child marriage and how communities can work together to prevent it.

Women with lived experiences of child marriage also shared their stories, reminding us why prevention, community action, and protecting girls must remain a collective responsibility.

Together, we can build communities where every girl is protected, supported, and free to reach her full potential.

Child Shield Initiative at the CSACEFA Meeting

Child Shield Initiative was delighted to participate in the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) meeting, where education stakeholders came together to discuss practical ways to strengthen the education system in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A key focus of the meeting was Safe Schools, recognising that quality education cannot be achieved without creating learning environments where every child is protected, respected, included and able to learn without fear.

At Child Shield Initiative, we believe that child protection and quality education go hand in hand. Our participation in conversations such as this reinforces our commitment to advocating for safer, more inclusive and child-friendly learning environments.

We look forward to continued collaboration with CSACEFA and other stakeholders in advancing policies, practices and interventions that put the safety, rights and wellbeing of every child at the centre of education in the FCT.

Together, we can build schools where children are safe, heard, protected and empowered to thrive.
