TOPIC: *THE DANGER OF A SILENT ALTAR.*

SCRIPTURE: And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
Judges 16:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Activity without intimacy with God is calamity.
`
The story of Samson presents a true picture of what happens when a man possesses great strength without a functional altar of relationship with God. Samson had no prayer life, no study of the Word, no fasting, no devotion.

But Matthew 6:33 admonishes us to, "...seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;" Samson came to the point where he was running from one strange woman to another, and the worst of all, was Delilah. He was moving from war to war and had no time for prayer.

You will never see an occasion in Scripture where it says, "And Samson prayed," except when in terrible crises. The first was when he was dying of thirst. The other time was when he was already in prison, his eyes plucked out, chained, and crying for mercy. Apart from those two moments, there is no other record of Samson saying, "Lord, I worship You." Not even once.

The truth is that activity without intimacy is calamity. A pastor may be so busy that he has no time to fast, no time to pray, no time to study the Word of God for his own feeding. Show me a person who is so busy that he has no time with God, and I will show you a disaster waiting to happen.

A woman once asked her husband, "You are not praying like you used to." He replied, "Those times I prayed a lot were the times I was struggling; now things are better." Imagine the mentality!

Logically and spiritually speaking, the time you think things are better is the time to pray the most, because the devil is watching out for how to tackle you. There is always an unusual calmness before mighty storms.

The worst thing that can happen to a minister of God is to move from altar to altar, engagement to engagement, without ever pausing to hear anything from God for himself.

No one can survive by continuing to breathe out without breathing in. Many are burnt out, whether preachers or worship leaders, because the Lord has left them, yet they are unaware. Activity continues regardless. The Bible says Samson went out as at other times; he knew not that the Spirit had departed from him. He was unaware, still acting as though nothing had changed.

Beloved, a silent altar is dangerous, not because God has stopped speaking, but because we have stopped seeking and listening. Samson's strength never left him in physical appearance, but the Spirit that once empowered every exploit had quietly departed, and he did not notice. Do not let your gifting outrun your relationship with God. The moment your altar of communion with Him goes silent, ask Him not merely to keep speaking, but to return.

REMEMBER THIS: Activity without intimacy with God is calamity.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Examine your prayer life honestly: is it thriving, or it has gone silent beneath the noise of activity?

2. Set aside undistracted time this week to seek God for yourself, not for what to preach to others.

3. If you sense distance from God, ask Him to return.

PRAYER: Father, forgive me for every lukewarm altar in my life. Let my relationship with You never be replaced by activity, however good it seems. Restore my true intimacy with You and let Your Spirit remain evidently active upon my life, Lord in Jesus' Name.

OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BY PASTOR E A ADEBOYE

DATE: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26TH 2026

THEME: *HE SPEAKS PEACE I*

MEMORISE: I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
Psalm 85:8

READ: Philippians 4:4-7
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

MESSAGE
After Jesus resurrected from the dead, He entered the room where His disciples had gathered because they were afraid and immediately told them, "Peace be unto you" (John 20:19). In John 14:27, Jesus also said:

Peace I leave with you, my peace l give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus gives His followers peace because He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). In Mark 4:35-41, the Bible tells us that Jesus and His disciples were in a ship, and a massive storm arose. While they were scared for their lives and were trying so hard to manage the situation, Jesus was sleeping peacefully. The moment they woke Him up, He issued only one decree, "Peace, be still," and everything became calm. In the name above every other name, I decree that the peace of God that passes all understanding will rest upon you at all times, in Jesus' name.

Today's memory verse tells us that God speaks peace to His people. It is important to understand that God is never the author of confusion or chaos (1 Corinthians 14:33). Whenever you sense confusion or chaos around you, know that the devil is at work because James 3:14-16 says that where envying and strife are present (which are earthly, sensual, and devilish), there is confusion and every evil work. When the earth was in a state of chaos and darkness covered the face of the deep in Genesis 1:2, God's word brought order to the situation.

Beloved, whenever you are in a state of confusion and chaos, cry out to God for help and listen to what He has to say to you. His Word will always bring peace and show you the way out of the situation. To receive the peace that the Prince of Peace gives, however, you must surrender your life to Him. People who insist on living on their own terms will not enjoy the peace of the Lord because His peace thrives only where His way is followed, and His will is done.

God wants to speak peace into any troubled water that might exist in your life. To enjoy His peace, however, you must never insist on calming any storm you may be facing your own way. Surrender to God totally, and His peace shall rule every facet of your life.

KEY POINT
God's peace rules where His way is followed and His will is done.

HYMN 7: I AM THINE O LORD
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3 O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I yet may know
Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSC DSC DD

SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2026.

TOPIC: *THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS*

_For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21)._

In Romans 5:1, we read something absolutely profound that also parallels what we read in our theme scripture. It says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Being justified by faith means we’ve been declared righteous by faith. Therefore, you must affirm and live in the consciousness of that righteousness.

Every so often, declare, “In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am righteous with the righteousness of Christ.” If you don’t do that, you may struggle endlessly, trying to attain by works what God already gave you as a gift. Many live this way without realizing it. On days when they think they’ve behaved well or done nothing wrong, they feel more confident that God will hear their prayers.

But that’s a dangerous mindset because it means basing your confidence or approval with God on personal performance rather than on the finished redemptive work of Christ. God never asked you to establish your own righteousness. The Bible says Jesus was made sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Some even think humility means constantly denouncing themselves before God, making statements such as, “Lord, I’m nothing; we’re all so unworthy and unrighteous before you.” But that’s not what God wants. He doesn’t delight in your self-denunciation, self-condemnation or self-recrimination. One was already condemned and crucified for you, and His Name is Jesus; He took your place.

Acts 13:38-39 (NKJV) tells us, “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” What God wants is for you to believe in and live according to what Christ accomplished in your behalf. The Apostle Paul says, “...if one died for all, then were all dead” (2 Corinthians 5:14). He died that you might live.

Now, you live for Him, in glory and in righteousness, effortlessly pleasing Him. This is the Christian life: it’s not about struggling to impress God through human effort; it’s about responding to His love by walking in His Word. The more you affirm who you are in Christ, the more that reality dominates your life. Therefore, think and speak righteousness. Live in the consciousness of your justification and right-standing with God.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making me the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I live in the consciousness of my right-standing with you and walk in the light of your Word today. My life is a manifestation of your grace, love, and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY
Romans 5:17 KJV For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Philippians 3:7-9 KJV
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. [8] Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, [9] And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Romans 3:21-22 KJV
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; [22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Romans 10:1-4 KJV
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. [2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. [3] For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. [4] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

TOPIC: *STAY WITHIN YOUR CALLING.*

SCRIPTURE: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
2 Chronicles 26:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every calling in God is a high calling; the pitfall is not in your calling, but in elevating yourself to a different one.

Uzziah was a king, yet he elevated himself to a calling that was not his; he arrogated to himself the office of a priest.

This is a warning every one of us must take seriously: elevating yourself to a different calling or arrogating to yourself a calling that God never gave you, is a destructive pitfall on the journey of destiny.
I have seen successful businessmen mess up their lives by branching into politics.
Suddenly, they step in because they think that is where to be. Soon, they become entangled in corrupt dealings, and the millions and billions they once possessed begin to disappear. In the end, people conclude that all their wealth was what they stole from the government, forgetting that they were already financially established before entering public office.
It is possible that God can call you first into business and then lead you into a political calling, but it is not compulsory. Whatever your call is, remain there.
When Jacob was brought before Pharaoh, Jacob blessed Pharaoh. In his heart he knew he was higher than Pharaoh, who was like the king of the world at the time. But Jacob knew he carried a patriarchal mantle, the mantle from Abraham, his grandfather, passed on to him through Isaac, his father. Joseph set Jacob, his father before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh, for the Bible says, “The less is blessed of the better.” (Hebrews 7:7). Though Pharaoh had money, influence, and land, Jacob knew he was higher than he, notwithstanding.
When people don't know who they are, they mess themselves up, stepping up and down in the name of one thing or another. Wherever God has planted you, in business, in ministry, in politics, or in diplomacy, know exactly what is yours.
David was a king, a priest and a prophet; therefore, it is possible for callings to overlap. On occasion, God entrusts individuals with multiple mantles, but each must be clearly understood.
Do not do things because others are doing them, or because you have been forced into doing them; Do things because you know God has called you to do them.

Beloved, Uzziah's tragedy was not that he lacked a calling; he already had one, and it was a high one, he was a king over the kingdom of Judah. His downfall came the day he reached for what belonged to another. Whatever God has called you to, honour it as a high calling, and refuse the temptation to arrogate to yourself what has not been given to you. Everyone should face their calling. Every calling in God is a high calling, whether your call is to full-time Ministry, business, political leadership, or whatever it is. That which God has called you to is a high calling; face it!

REMEMBER THIS: Every calling in God is a high calling; the danger is not in where God has placed you, but in reaching for a place He has not.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Reflect on whether you are operating within your calling or reaching for one that isn't yours.
2. Honour the place God has planted you, whether in business, ministry, or leadership.

PRAYER: Father, help me to know exactly what You have called me to do, and give me the grace to remain faithful there. Let me never arrogate to myself a calling that is not mine, Lord in Jesus' Name.

TOPIC: *GOD OF HOPE*

MEMORIZE:
"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." Romans 15:13 (KJV)

BIBLE READING: JOHN 21:1-14

1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.

2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.

9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

MESSAGE:
After Jesus died, His disciples became afraid and lost hope. John 21:3 tells us that Peter said to the other disciples, "I go a fishing." "He wasn't going to fish for souls; instead, he was returning to his old job because he had lost hope. He must have thought to himself, "We thought Jesus Christ was going to rescue us from all those who are oppressing us. We thought that the age of miracles had come to stay, but now He has been crucified on a cross." When Peter told the other disciples that he was going fishing, they joined him because they had also lost hope. They felt that the best thing they could do was to return to fishing. However, Jesus appeared to them that morning as they fished and restored their hope. As they struggled to catch fish, Jesus called out to them and showed them where to cast their net. He turned their hopelessness into joy. I declare that God will show up for you and turn every hopeless situation you may be experiencing around, in Jesus' name.

Child of God, when all hope is lost and people have given up on you, do not give up on yourself. If, peradventure, you have given up on yourself, do not give up on God because He will always show up for the hopeless when they turn to Him. Today's memory verse calls Him 'the God of hope'.

Some years ago, a young man was travelling from Kaduna, a state in Northern Nigeria, to Lagos with some other people in a vehicle. While they were on their way, they had an accident and everyone in the vehicle died except the young man. He was taken to a hospital because he was still breathing, even though he was unconscious. He was in a coma for several days, and every once in a while, he would wake up and shout, "Jesus," before returning to the coma. After a while, the doctors concluded that his case was hopeless, but they couldn't bury him because he was still breathing. Then one day, he awoke, cried out 'Jesus!", opened his eyes, and never slipped back into the coma. That young man is still alive today.

Beloved, I pray that if there is any situation in your life that people around you have concluded to be hopeless, you will receive a new lease of life from the Almighty that will transform it into a testimony, in Jesus' name.

KEY POINT:
The Almighty God is a God of hope; therefore, you must never lose hope.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES, DAILY DEVOTIONAL

BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSC DSC DD

THURSDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2026.

TOPIC: *KEEP LOOKING AT HIM*

_But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image...(2 Corinthians 3:18)_ .

Growth in Christ is relational. The more you know Him, the more you’re like Him, and the more His character, wisdom, glory and nature are expressed through your life. That’s true Christianity; it’s the unveiling of Christ in you. This is why your walk with Christ must remain personal and intimate.

The transformation God desires in your life comes through continual fellowship, beholding Him, as the Bible says: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Notice the progression: as you look, you’re changed.

The word translated “changed” comes from the Greek “metamorphoō,” from which we derive the word “metamorphosis”; a complete transformation from one state into another. Thus, the more you behold Christ through the Word, the more you become like Him. This is why you must never take your eyes away from the Lord.

The Bible says in Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith….” It brings to mind Peter’s experience when the Lord Jesus asked him to walk up to Him on water. Peter walked on water as long as his focus remained on the Master. But the moment Peter looked away and became conscious of the wind and waves, he began to sink (Matthew 14:29-30).

That’s a lesson for every Christian. As long as you’re focused on the Lord, you’ll walk above the circumstances of life. You’ll walk above fear, sin, limitation, failure and the corrupting influences of this world. Hallelujah! Christianity is a call to walk on water, a call to look away from the natural elements, circumstances, pressures and challenges of this world, unto Christ!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for calling me into fellowship with you and transforming me by your Spirit. As I continually behold your glory through the Word, I’m metamorphosed into the same image, manifesting your excellence, beauty, wisdom and glory. I walk above the circumstances of life and glorify you continually, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY
Corinthians 3:18 NIV
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Hebrews 12:2 TPT
We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

James 1:23-25 KJV
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

TOPIC: *THE WEAKNESS OF “STRENGTH”*

SCRIPTURE: But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God.
2 Chronicles 26:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A major pitfall on the journey of life and destiny is the pitfall of pride and arrogance.

The Scripture above is part of a very disturbing story, one of the most painful stories in Scripture. It is the story of King Uzziah, a king marvellously helped by God until he became strong.
But then something undesirable happened to him after he was made strong by the help of God. The same strength lifted up his heart, and that lifting became the very thing that destroyed him.
A major pitfall on the journey of life and destiny is the pitfall of pride and arrogance. You don't know the true character of people until they have money, power, or position. Many good Christians remain faithful until they enter a government office or assumed an influential position, and you begin to wonder if they still know God. You never truly know who a person is until they have influence or great opportunities.
That is when you discover who is who. Before then, when you call upon them, they would answer, "Here am I, use me." But once a little elevation comes, you can no longer reach them.
We all need to beware of pride because lucifer became Satan not because God rejected him, but rather because he became proud. God made him head of the angels, and the position entered his head, and that same position crashed him from his place. Whatever level of money, influence, or impact God gives you, may it never enter your head.
A little position, a little influence, has ruined many people. Yet I have learned to hold every level of blessing with an open, humble heart. I have gone for crusades this year in places with lack of basic amenities. In fact, in one of the places, I had to use my phone's touch-light to prepare messages at night. Yet by the same grace, I can fly anywhere in the world, at any time, by any means I choose. That contrast keeps a man's heart in proper perspective before God.
I am trusting the Lord to keep me in a place where He remains secure in me, convinced that pride will never claim this man. Lucifer was lost, and he is not recoverable; no blood sacrifice can redeem him. That is why God seems to be saying of many, "I would rather you make heaven than give you a position, money, or influence that will destroy you."

Beloved, every level of increase God brings is a test disguised as a blessing. Uzziah did not fall the day he became king; he fell the day his strength convinced him that he no longer needed God. Strength itself is not the enemy, but strength not well managed becomes weakness. It can even become a destructive snare the enemy uses to destroy lives and destinies.
Whatever height the Lord takes you to, guard your heart fiercely. Pride does not announce itself before it destroys; it simply lifts the heart quietly until the fall becomes loud.

REMEMBER THIS: A major pitfall on the journey of life and destiny is the pitfall of pride and arrogance.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Examine areas of recent increase in your life and ask God to search your heart for pride.
2. Practise humility in private, not just where others can see.
3. Manage your strength well so it doesn’t become weakness. Pray daily that your strength will never become the very thing that will destroy you.

PRAYER: Father, whatever strength or elevation You give me, let it never turn me into a stranger to You. Guard my heart from pride at every stage of increase so I can remain humble and usable in Your hands all through my life, Lord in Jesus' Name.
