Nigeria is showing what bold leadership and progress in the TB response truly looks like and at DHDC, we are proud to be part of this momentum with support from CFCS.

From the energy on the streets across the federation to the urgency echoed at the Ministerial Press Briefing, the message is clear: Nigeria is not standing still in the fight against TB.

We welcome the call to action by Honorable MOH Nigeria Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, for stronger domestic health financing: “Nigeria must put its own money where it matters most to end diseases like TB, HIV and Malaria once and for all”

The launch of the Multisectoral Accountability Framework for TB (MAF-TB) and Lenacapavir PrEP signals a new era of coordinated, forward-thinking responses.

At DHDC, we do not take for granted the opportunity to continue to contribute to this progress with support from the Stop TB Partnership CFCS. We are proud of these developments and stand ready to support and partners for continued impact

From the visibility on the streets of Lagos to the depth of engagement at the high-level symposium in Ikeja, it is clear that Lagos State is prioritising bold leadership, people-centred action to .

We commend the leadership of the First Lady, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and the Lagos State Ministry of Health for advancing critical conversations on sustainable financing, improved diagnostics, and community-driven solutions.

At DHDC, we see this as a strong alignment with the Stop DR-TB work we are advancing through the OneImpact CLM platform, and we appreciate the opportunity to be part of this progress with support from CFCS and Foundation.

We are encouraged by this leadership and remain committed to working alongside Lagos State TB Programme and partners to translate momentum into measurable, lasting impact.

Early detection is not just about finding TB but it is also key to preventing drug-resistant TB (DR-TB). TB does not wait. It does not respect distance, location, age, gender, or economic status and we are not relenting our efforts
In Dutsen Alhaji community, Bwari Abuja, DHDC alongside the FCT TBLCP and partners brought TB awareness, screening, and testing directly to children where they learn, grow and dream.
This effort reflects our ongoing work with support from Humana People to People foundation and Stop TB Partnership
We are grateful to the NTBLCP, FCT TBLCP and for their leadership and commitment to making this possible.

Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and thrive free from tuberculosis.

In Karshi rural community, we collaborated with FCT Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme (FCTBLCP) and other committed stakeholders to bring TB awareness, screening, testing, and access to treatment directly to children.

This effort contributes to Nigeria’s NTBLCP commemoration and targets to end childhood TB, reaching children in slum setting to protect the next generation and strengthening the future of public health.

DHDC remains grateful for the support of Stop TB Partnership (UNOPS) and Humana Foundation, whose partnership continues to expand access to life-saving TB services and advance child-centered health interventions.

Healthy children mean stronger communities and ending TB starts with ensuring no child is missed.

Digital innovation is non-negotiable for an effective DR-TB response. At the recent DR-TB Management Training in Abuja, DHDC led a session on Leveraging Digital Technology: OneImpact Nigeria to drive real-time monitoring, community feedback, and systemic accountability for improved DR TB outcomes.

Through our close work with NTBLCP, and FCT TBLCP, we are ensuring no person with DR TB is left behind.

We appreciate the NTBLCP for the platform. This demonstrates a shared commitment to evidence-based policy, scaling community-led monitoring, and ensuring a resilient, person-centred TB response.

From Lagos to Abuja, DHDC played an active role in the End-Term Review of the National Strategic Plan (NSP 2021-2026), contributing to state and national assessments shaping Nigeria’s next TB strategy cycle.

We joined stakeholders for field visits, facility reviews, multistakeholder consultations, thematic reviews and harmonisation, while identifying implementation gaps and areas for improvement.

The evidence and recommendations derived from this process will inform the NSP 2027–2031.

We thank the NTBLCP for the opportunity to be part of this important process and we remain committed to contributing strategically to the National TB response.
