Selu Afrique Community Development Initiative for Women Empowerment had a truly special Christmas with our amazing widows in Kwande and Ushongo! 💕 We didn't just spread cheer, we listened, we hugged, and we reminded them they're not alone. To our incredible widows, you inspire us with your strength and resilience. We're honored to walk this journey with you. We also celebrated with our families, embracing the love and warmth of the season.

In early November, 2025, I encountered a lady begging with her child near my office. When she heard me speaking her language, she approached me about her daughter's urgent need for a VJ opening operation. I requested her medical report, verified it with the medical facility, and promised to help raise funds. With support from many, we raised ₦500,000. Contributors wanted updates on the operation's progress.

The mother, Ms. Nguher, needed to write an exam at BSU, so I advised her to prepare for the operation in November end. When she returned, I insisted on a second opinion at Garki Specialist Hospital Abuja. There, pediatric specialists advised against the operation until the child turns 11.

We spent ₦50,000 on transportation, ₦16,000 for hospital cards, ₦15,000 on medication, and ₦7,000 on transport and feeding (₦88,000 total). Given the operation wasn't needed, I consulted Ukan Kurugh on utilizing the remaining funds. We decided to support the mother with a nail tech business, using the ₦414,000 balance to help her care for the child and save for future needs.

Yesterday, I presented her with a ₦414,000 cheque to start a nail business. I'm grateful to everyone who supported Selu Afrique Community Development Initiative for Women Empowerment to make this difference 🙏.

We are writing to seek your support for Selu Afrique Community Development Initiative for Women Empowerment's "Annual Christmas with Widows" program. This initiative, now in its 7th year, aims to provide emotional support, clothing, and food to 200 widows in Benue State on December 26th and 27th, 2025.

Our organization has been empowering women and vulnerable communities for the past 8 years. We believe your support would greatly enhance the program's impact.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
- Target Beneficiaries: 200 widows
- Program Date: December 26th & 27th December
- Activities: Clothing distribution, food distribution, emotional support, and entertainment

CHRISTMAS WITH WIDOWS 2024 WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
We're thrilled to share the success of our yearly Christmas with Widows program, held in partnership with Elohim Development Foundation today 30th December, 2024!

We gathered to spread love, kindness, and cheer to our dear widows in Makurdi LGA, Benue State. The event was a beautiful celebration of the Christmas spirit, filled with laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt connections.

Through this program, we provided food, non-food items and transportation to our beloved widows, symbolizing our love, appreciation, and commitment to supporting them.

We're grateful for the partnership with Elohim Foundation, whose shared vision and values made this event possible. Together, we're making a difference in the lives of these incredible women!

A huge thank you to our team, volunteers, and donors who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this program. Your selflessness and generosity are a testament to the true spirit of Christmas!

To our dear widows, we're honored to have shared this special day with you. You're not alone, and we're committed to standing with you throughout the year.

Merry Christmas, and may the joy, love, and peace of the season be with you always!

Note:
Today I met a very young widows who has few weeks old twins boy and girl. The husband passed on few days after she gave birth to the adorable children. She was in tears throughout the program. She needs support to take care of these children. Kindly indicate if you wish to directly offer her any support.
