Before joining Empower Her Ability, Martha was running her food business from home, which limited her visibility, customer reach, and income opportunities. She also struggled with record keeping and financial management.

Through the project, Martha received entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and a ₦100,000 grant. She learned record keeping, customer engagement, and how to manage her business finances more effectively.

Today, Martha has moved from home-based selling to operating from a dedicated market space. She reports improved income, increased confidence, and stronger customer interactions.

For Martha, the project was a turning point from hidden business activity to visible entrepreneurship.

Her words say it best:
“As a person with disability, pick courage. There is nothing you cannot do.”

Before joining Empower Her Ability, Naomi was running her wig business informally without clear business systems or financial structure.

She was buying and selling, but without proper record keeping or a clear growth strategy, which made her consider giving up on the business altogether.

Through the project, Naomi received entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and financial support. She gained practical knowledge on customer engagement, record keeping, business planning, and growth strategies. The funding also helped her restock her wig business and begin a small side business in liquid soap production.

Today, Naomi is more confident in managing her business, engaging customers, and making intentional business decisions. She also reports improved income and greater independence.
For Naomi, Empower Her Ability turned business confusion into clarity and direction.

Her words say it best:
As a woman with disability, be ready to grab opportunities like the Empower Her Ability project and gain something out of it.

🧠 MYTH OR FACT?

One of the biggest barriers faced by persons with disabilities isn't disability itself—it's the misconceptions surrounding it.

The truth is that inclusion benefits everyone.

When workplaces, schools, and communities become more accessible, everyone has the opportunity to contribute, innovate, and thrive.

💬 We'd love to hear from you.

Before Empower Her Ability, Queen was already selling bags and shoes, but without proper daily sales tracking or strong social media visibility. Her business relied mostly on offline transactions, which limited her growth and customer reach.
A major challenge for Queen was low social media awareness, which affected how visible her products were in the market.

Through the project, Queen received entrepreneurship training and mentorship focused on financial management, record keeping, and digital marketing. She learned how to position her business online and manage it more effectively.

Today, Queen is actively promoting her products through social media, reaching customers beyond her physical location, and conducting more online transactions. She also reports improved financial management and stronger self-reliance.

For Queen, the project opened new pathways for digital business growth.

Her words say it best:
“What I’ve learnt, I will not just drop it. I’ll take it to the next level.”

Before Empower Her Ability, Ladi’s fashion business was limited by one major challenge: she did not have a personal sewing machine. This meant outsourcing work, spending more on transportation and production, and struggling to meet customer demand consistently.

Through the project, Ladi received entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and a sewing machine that significantly improved her production capacity.

Today, she is able to sew independently, reduce outsourcing costs, increase customer orders, and manage her business more confidently. She now sees stronger income opportunities and greater business stability.

For Ladi, access to the right equipment changed everything.
Her words say it best:
“If I can make it, anybody can make it.
